Under her care, I've been kept free of attacks for several decades and am in and out of the office very quickly. Very well run operation.

Do you want the short review or the long one? For those looking for a general synopsis, here it is: Her name is Dr. Goodstein and there is literally nothing good about her.

For a more detailed overview of my experience keep reading.

I have had reactions to 3 different kinds of food in the past month (mixed nuts, apples and soy), all of which I have never had adverse reactions to previously. These are foods I have consumed my entire life and I have never had any food allergies, at least none that I was aware of. The third reaction I had was this week to an organic product containing soy. This resulted in me ending up in the emergency room and having one of the scariest experiences of my life. Because of what had been happening to me over the past month, the hospital recommended I get a full panel done to know what I may have a reaction to in the future.

The very next day I called Dr. Goodstein's office and asked for the earliest available appointment to get this done. They told me I'd have to come the next day because food panels needed to be ordered so they needed 24 hours notice. No problem.

I had my appointment last night and Dr. Goodstein was the rudest and most impatient doctor I've ever seen in my life, by far. Her bedside manners ceased to exist and I was shocked when she started to coach me to breath faster as she used her stethoscope to listen to my lungs (I still can't believe she did that). I explained to her everything that was going on with me and she told me she would only be testing me for the ingredients I had potential reactions to. I explained that the hospital recommended I get a full panel done in which she rolled her eyes and told me I was mislead in their referral and that she refused to do one, unless I wanted to "come back for multiple visits". I was persistent that I wanted what was recommended to me in which she replied, "so what do you want me to test you for?"...."What do you mean?" I replied. "I want everything." Then she started naming every food she could test on me and that I had to pick..... Um, what? So I decided to pick a few foods that I had always eaten but hadn't consumed recently in addition to the ones that I had reactions to over the past month (by the way, she didn't even have everything to do a proper test on me so I don't know what her office meant the day earlier when they said they needed 24 hours notice to order the "full panel").

She claimed she saw a slight reaction to soy and peanuts on my arm but nothing that would "concern her". I reminded her that I wasn't making up what happened to me and that I ended up in the hospital and if there's anything else she could think of in terms of an explanation. She seemed bothered by this inquiry and provided me nothing.

In the end, I walked out of there with no answers, more questions, money spent and time wasted. I posted a small status on Facebook about my experience in which I included Dr. Goodstein's name. I was shocked when 4 different people reached out to me to confirm if it was "Carolyn Goodstein from Englewood" that I was referring to. All of them had similar experiences as I did and stated they would never recommend her..... If only I had known this sooner.

I have been going to Dr. Goodstein for almost 15 years and I can say that she completely made my quality of life 100% better. I suffer from chronic asthma and with her approach I can now live a normal life. Her staff is absolutely helpful, I hope she sticks around for many years.

I felt like Dr. Goodstein was greedy and tried to get as many needles in me as possible. I had to get blood work done, her MA stabbed me THREE times and couldn't get it done. After this traumatic experience, she insisted I get the flu shot. I told her no, because I'm already tramatized by 3 attempts to draw my blood, I've had enough needles for one day. But her and her MA INSISTED and before I could even hop out of the chair, the flu shot needle was in my arm! Lastly, my arms are black and blue from the blood drawing.
