I've been looking for a doctor who would listen to my concerns and truly care about my wellbeing. I have finally found one in Dr. Fleischman. She took her time to learn about all my medical issues (unfortunately I have quite a few) and answered all my questions. Another big plus is that I didn't have to wait and was seen right after I arrived.

I have been seeing Dr. Fleischman for a few years now. She cares very much about her patients. She has a thorough consultative approach that I appreciate in this modern day where most doctors are looking at their watch and rushing you out. She takes her time, asks you about your health, questions and concerns, drug interactions, etc. Very thorough and takes her time with you.

I've seen Dr. Fleishman twice in the past year at a local Walk in Clinic. I am always surprised at how little she seems to know. She doesn't probe or asks questions, and simply asks me if I want any medication and what I wanted. I have zero confidence in her assessments and plan to avoid this walk in clinic unless I have a specific need.

Biography

From the early days of her career, Dr. Fleischman developed a strong interest in holistic approach to medicine and appreciation for the important role the environment, diet and lifestyle play in a person’s state of health and general wellbeing. Dr. Fleischman grew up in Siberia where she also received her medical degree and early professional experience. She started her career treating urban dwellers suffering from industrial pollution, unbalanced diet and lack of physical activity. The impact of those conditions on Dr. Fleischman’s patients stood in stark contrast to a much better state of health of the indigenous people living outside the major cities often still in a pristine environment. Dr. Fleischman developed firsthand knowledge of the many ways the natives connected with the surrounding Nature and its healing powers while their diet and balanced lifestyle were very dissimilar to those of their counterparts living in industrial cities. Impressed by their health, longevity and vigor, Dr. Fleischman learned as much as she could about the natives so she could apply their centuries-old wisdom to healing her own patients. Upon arriving in the United States, Dr. Fleischman received her residency training and Board Certification in Internal Medicine. She then spent several years as a primary care physician in a fast-paced busy practice setting. During that time, she realized that evaluating just the current symptoms and offering a quick solution – usually medication – means cutting corners as that approach rarely goes beyond the generic advice to eat healthy, sleep well and exercise. Many patients also have learned to expect a quick fix in the form of a pill to try to make current symptoms go away while major underlying issues leading to their ill health stay mostly ignored. Thanks to her diverse life and clinical experience, Dr. Fleischman saw a better way of caring for her patients, so she started her own Integrative Medicine practice in Stamford, CT. Dr. Fleischman’s practice philosophy is to always put patients first by listening to them and taking her time to understand everything that is going on in patient’s life that is even remotely affecting his or her well-being and quality of life. She then becomes partners with the patient on the road to healing. In this partnership, active patient participation is extremely important and goes far beyond taking medications on time and keeping doctor appointments. Dr. Fleischman and her patient together look at all aspects of the patient’s life and build a road map to wellness that includes treatments, proper nutrition, exercise, lifestyle changes, stress management, and many other components. The healing partnership between Dr. Fleischman and her patient does not end when the current medical problem is successfully treated; on the contrary, it remains active with an emphasis on disease prevention and quality of life. As an experienced modern physician, Dr. Fleischman practices evidence-based medicine employing all the latest scientific advances to help her patients get better. She works closely with top medical specialists to whom she refers her patients. At the same time Dr. Fleischman is knowledgeable about alternative healing practices that have a potential of making her patient get better sooner and stay healthy. Dr. Fleischman works closely with other health practitioners including nutritionists, psychotherapists, acupuncturists, and other professionals whom she screened for their qualifications and recommends to her patients. Dr. Fleischman approaches all healing practices with an open mind and welcomes an open discussion about any technique or practice that could benefit her patients. As a partner in the healing process, Dr. Fleischman encourages her patients to actively research and learn about their condition, treatment options or any other health and wellness issue, and not be afraid to ask questions or bring their own ideas to the table.
