I think Dr Tapper has taken on way too many patients an is too busy. He is almost always late (I've waited almost 2 hours, very stressful with a newborn) and when we do see him he is rushing us the whole time. He does always ask whether I have any concerns which is great and appreciated however my impression is that he just wants to get out the door as quickly as possible.

Positives: Geraldine is great, he returns phone calls and will address concerns over the phone, he seems nice, he seems knowledgeable ,

Negatives: unorganized, long wait times, rushed visits, twice forgot about my child's roto virus vaccine (I had to go back in the first time and remind him the second time), I didn't find him to be supportive of breastfeeding.

Have been seeing Dr. Tapper since my daughter was born in 2010. He is the BEST. He never dismisses my concerns or point of view-can explain things at a level my husband can understand. He also is very familiar with cardiac issues, so when we diagnosed my girl with a heart murmur and subsequent hole in the heart- he explained it all and reassured us completely. He has followed up with us via phone calls to my work or home, after hours for him. I have referred one of my friends to him as well and she is also very happy with him. I would never take my daughter anywhere else and I will happily wait 2 hours to see him if I had to. Wish he was my doctor for the care he gives his patients. As well Geraldine gets the best medical receptionist/assistant award for the decade. This woman remembers you-your name and and your child's name. She always seems calm- which is amazing. Dr. T you lucked out when you found her. Thanks to you both. Remember- wait times are not always the fault of the doctors office--ask yourself have you ever been late for an appointment? if yes- that is the main cause of doctor visits running late for the next person. As well sick kids cannot be rushed. As far as complaints about the office not being clean--have you seen how many staff are in that place!! really to blame one person for a mess is ridiculous--as well sick patients sometimes require giving themselves injections-- are you sure the needle did not come from a non-doctor source?

Dr. Tapper is the best pediatrician in Winnipeg. Dr. Tapper has helped us save our daughter from facial disfigurement and surgery. Dr. Tapper was always patient and kind. While we were searching for a diagnosis for our daughter Dr. Tapper never made us feel like a nuisance and always took the time to see us. At no point did we feel rushed. I truly got the sense that our daughter's well being was and is Dr. Tapper's first priority. Dr. Tapper consulted with other physicians and specialists to help us find the answer. When we received the diagnosis Dr. Tapper initiated treatment in a timely fashion and the outcome has surpassed our expectations. Dr. Tapper has made such a difference not only for our daughter but for our whole family. Dr. Tapper also has the best receptionist Geraldine who is always kind and courteous. Geraldine made a hard time that much easier by her warm demeanor and understanding.

Dr Tapper is busy because he is good. We have three sons and have no interest in bringing them to anyone else. He is a little dismissive about our ideas sometimes but he does listen and cares very much.

Dr. Tapper gives a parent as much time as needed. I would rather go in expecting a wait, and have the time and attention my children need than get in quickly and rush through the appointment. My son is shy and Dr. Tapper's tone and delivery to him are perfect. His knowledge surpasses any other pediatrician we have had. Our daughter came from an orpahanage setting, and he was very careful to moniter her development and growth. He ensured her immunizations were up to date and had testing done above and beyond that recommended by our adoption agency. He had knowledge of health concerns that are partial to certain cultures, such as sickle cell anemia. (Our previous pediatrican missed this with our son. His dentist caught it right before giving him general anasthetic, which can be deadly with sickle cell. His surgery had to be cancelled until testing was done.) Big fan of Dr. Tapper!

Was not happy with "dr taps" at all. As a first time mom, I had concerns that were never dealt with. He blew me off every time I mentioned them. Gave him multiple chances, thought he was just having a crappy day, but when we went back formula sons needles, he literally stabbed him, let him cry and left the room. All concerns we had were never something to worry about...only good thing about that office is the receptionist. Sweetest lady ever!

i have yet to see this doctor but have talked to him on the phone about my son. and he agreed that he needs to see him as soon as possible when other doctors in this city ARE not taking new patiants.

Dr. Tapper is amazing! He is very caring and knowledgeable with every question I have. He has been very patient with me as a first time mom and is always very thorough with everything he does. I feel very confident with his skills and I am very happy to have him as my son's pediatrician. As far as his staff goes, his receptionist has always been helpful and very accomodating whenever I needed an appointment last minute. I don't mind waiting if my son really needs to see a doctor She is great!! I love this doctor and look forward to staying with him for awhile.
