I have suffered with chronic pain for over 40yrs. and totally 'unheard' until I was referred the pain programme. Dr M is the most caring Dr I have seen in all that time both back in my native England and here in BC. Everyone from the front desk staff members/nurses and Dr Muendel have been amazing.

Good listener, respectful, honest with helpful medical explanations. The staff at the program especially the new OT and head nurse have given me some of the best insights into how to deal with my pain. They clearly explained that they had no cure for chronic pain but would help me cope with it using active therapies as best they could.

Dr. Muendel and I had a phone conversation, then I went to the Pain Clinic for a steroid shot. He was informative, respectful, and precise, and the entire staff there was smart and compassionate.

I have been helped by Dr Muendel & the staff at the Pain Clinic for years - always thorough and ensure I have the knowledge to help myself after. I appreciate the honesty and educational aspect of this great teams approach to helping me. In addition Dr Muendel knows what limitations exist with treatments and that the goals are improvement not necessarily a 100% fix.

I haven't felt more brushed off by a doctor before. So incredibly rude, and unhelpful. He accused me of exaggerating my chronic pain and asked if I was sure it "Wasn't just menstral pain". After I brought someone in with me to help advocate he told me we had "lots of options left to try", and to call the office the schedule my next appointment. When I called I was informed Dr. Muendel wouldn't schedule any more appointments with me. I even asked if I could just speak to him on the phone and he wouldn't do that. So much false hope with him.

On July 4, 2019 I had an epidural administered by Dr. Karl Muendel at NRGH's Pain Clinic. The following morning I awoke free of pain. It is now July 7, 2020 and I am still WITHOUT pain!
