Dr. Harrison is simply the best. As a physician, he is approachable, knowledgeable and easy to talk with. As a surgeon? The staple-pattern left behind after my hip surgery was the most punctilious and perfect stapling job in human history! (At the very least, a reasonable facsimile).

Dr. Harrison was always available by phone and email, and ensured that questions and concerns were honestly addressed.

Thank you Dr. Mark.

Mark Harrison did a right hip replacement for Me. His work was pristine - so much so, that the nurse who attended post-surgery to refresh dressings on the hip was absolutely amazed at the spacing of the staples…*perfect* spacing and absolute accuity! No surprise to anyone who knows the good doctor - from his knowledge base to his skills in the surgery, Dr. Harrison is as fine a physician as ever I’ve had. Superlative as a surgeon (when he is not busy supervising his PhD students. Thank you Mark!

I had a total knee replacement at the Hotel Dieu, Dr Harrison was my surgeon, in my opinion he was an excellent surgeon. Very professional and to the point. Went for my follow up, he was a little late, but better late than never. I really liked him, he reminded me of my Doc when I was a kid. I liked him and his personality. And he fixed me up, good as new, and I have nothing but praise for him.

So inept at his job he couldn't even review my case before seeing me, not once did he look at the MRI, CAT Scan, Xray's, or letters about my left knee that were sent to him by my family doctor, instead he suggested an off loader brace ($1,500 later) which helped little when I got one; he stated one of his patients got one and now runs marathons! My family doctor stated that was the wrong thing to say considering he hadn't looked at any of the information sent to him, he just came in the room and "winged" it. It was a nice golf day and I was his last patient, why do your job when it's a nice day outside? I took a day off work without pay to drive from Belleville to Kingston to see him and he was too lazy to look at any of the imaging/reports sent to his office. After 5 years of additional suffering I am finally scheduled for total left knee replacement in Belleville by Dr. Birchard. Mr. Harrison (Doctor does not apply here) stated I was too young for a knee replacement at the time; but, he was too ignorant to even listen to what my knee was doing and if he had to walk on it for one day he would have wanted surgery the next day. My quality of life was greatly reduced, I couldn't get exercise because of the pain, or go dancing ( I use to enjoy dancing), stairs were very painful and now I can hardly put my weight on it for the pain. Mr. Harrison admitted I was bone on bone and I have been since 2000 after a previous surgery; but, maintained I was too young stating knees only last 10 years. So, if it was known I had ten years left to live would you have offered the surgery then? Many people have replacements while in their 50's with much less pain than I have suffered with and he was unprofessional to say the least when I met him. From my experience you are better off looking elsewhere as now because of my left knee my right hip will be the next replacement required, of which Mr. Harrison stated I think your back is more of an issue than your right hip.......again without looking at any of the information sent to him........afterall it was a nice golf day outside!!!

Incompetent but won’t admit it. Husband waited over Five years for foot surgery and still waiting. Several inquiries with no response because Dr. Harrison is incompetent and unable to perform this surgery. Why not just say so and respond to our requests, how disgusting to leave my husband suffering. New competent surgeon had taken his case on immediately. Thank you Dr. Cahina, nice to finally have some talent in Kingston.
