A HUGE thank you to Dr. Gavin Wood, who is a dedicated and remarkable surgeon. I was referred to him in Oct 2020 for severe osteoarthritis in my hip requiring replacement surgery. With no thanks to Covid, this surgery finally took place June 2021. I was out of hospital the following day with no pain. I had incision tenderness but no excruciating pain. Absolutely life changing right after the surgery was done. And also thanks to the staff on Kidd 6 KGH who were very attentive. A ton of gratitude to Dr. Wood and his whole team for giving me my life back. Thank you, I’m forever grateful.

Dr. Wood preformed a hip replacement on November 30, 2020 and I am extremely pleased with the results. His residents were knowledgeable and answered my many questions. A delay in surgery due to Covid left me in a great deal of pain. It is wonderful to be able to go for a walk again. My only concern was the scheduling of my surgery. I was told in September it would be the end of October but when I called back to find out the exact of surgery date, it appeared I had been forgotten and ended up waiting another month.

I saw more of his medical students and fellows than i did of him post op even though i had serious concerns about my rehabilitation stalling and unusual pain. turned out to be a Failed procedure. Seeking another surgeon for a revision / next steps.

Dr. Gavin Wood successfully did a hip replacement surgery for me and I would like to thank Dr Wood and his staff for their for the excellent care and for providing me with mobility and pain free movement again. Dr Wood has just completed my full knee replacement, pain free from day one. Absolutely the most fantastic doctor I’ve ever met. He knows when to push and when to joke. I trust him with my mobility and he has not disappointed me in any way.

OMG...Dr. Wood gave me my life back. Waited 2 years for someone to agree to do my Hip replacement surgery. He agreed. WOW. He and his staff and all the nurses and medical staff at Hotel Dieu and Kingston General were amazing. Thank You Dr. Wood

Had a follow up appointment at the two year mark after my knee replacement, saw an interm who listened to my concerns and then went off to talk with the doctor, the interm returned after 5 mins and told me that the doctor can't do anything to help my concerns and is not coming in to see me this time, I was then told to come back in another year.., my journey took me hours to get to the hospital in heavy winter conditions and traffic and this doctor who is the rudest and most unprofessional doctor I have ever had the displeasure to meet wouldn't even give me the time of day, my knee is very unstable, swollen, and hurting actually worse then before the op was done.
Another reason for him to not want to see me is I believe he is transphobic as for the past appointments I have had with him were so very brief in and out so fast..
I will never go back to this man.
