He knows a lot, but is not useful when all he does is talk about himself, answers his cellphone in the middle of ALL of my appointments and it is always late. His staff is horrible and both of offices (Savannah and Pooler) are filthy. He is quick to prescribe things without listen to the full story. It seems that doctors now are more concerned about the healthcare politics than patients.

Dr Northup is a genius. He has brought my Grandmother back from death's door. His diagnosis is right on target. He takes time to discuss your concerns and has even taken the time to sit down with me at the computer to show me the research. He is genuine and brilliant.

Dr. Northup's best asset was his previous PA, Karen. It is almost impossible to get an appointment with the Doctor himself--I have generally been stuck with his current idiot of a PA, H.A. Saunders. Several other reviews state that the office staff is rude; I don't have this experience overall, but there is one nurse in particular who is EXTREMELY rude. H.A. acts as though his paycheck is deducted for each moment he is in the room with a patient. I was a patient of Dr. Northup's for two years, during which I went for several visits for a variety of reasons. After two years of no permanently satisfactory diagnosis, I mentioned my symptoms to my OBGYN, who sent me for tests which determined I am DIABETIC, NOT Dr. Northup's signature "atopic" diagnosis. He spent 2 years trying to convince me to buy his book, buy "Slim," a product sold by his daughter, and learn self-hypnosis. Nice guy, but a complete quack.

I like Dr Northrup but there is so much confusion and the labs and tests come up missing. He doesn't have anything to work with. Says he will follow up on something and never does. His office is very very unorganized. My folder has been lost, I have been billed for things I never had and if I do get tests they can't find them. I have stuck around because I like him but I might look around

Does not care about patient's concerns, talks mostly about himself, no follow up on test results, always late, tries to order every test he can bill for.

Northup is the most thorough and intelligent doctor I have ever known. His analysis and treatment of my condition has been superb, with much emphasis on personal involvement and considerable research into specific care for my chronic illnesses. His attention to each patient is lengthly and thorough, with full explanations for any questions the patient may have. His office and staffing situation is chaotic, at best, with much staff turnover and always a long wait for each appointment. If it were any other doctor's office, I wouldn't tolerate the long wait, but his expertise is unparalleled, so the wait is justified. I do wish he would get his staffing situation straightened out so there would be some continuity in the office personnel, it would make the appointment much more tolerable.

Dr.Northup is the best doctor in Savannah, but his staff knows no order and I partially fault him. There is constant turn over of staff. Tension is so high in this office. Sometimes I can retrive information about my blood work, but only sometimes .. Trying to schedule a test is hard to imp., because no one is "on the same page." I have known Dr.Northup my whole life and hate leaving, but maybe this neg. rateing is neaded.

I had to wait 3 hours in the waiting room because the doctor hadn't come in. (This isn't the first or second time!) Employees were rude. I was scheduled for bone scans, etc. and all I had was stomach issues. My insurance billing was incorrect.

I think this doctor is terrific. He takes whatever time necessary and is very concerned and thoughtful. The only problems I have is the wait and right now the change they are making from paper to computer is causing problems with the billing. He is worth it tho.
