I did not enjoy the interaction with Dr. Abernathy. I felt she focused more on the cost of everything versus putting together a comprehensive plan for me. What people are willing to pay for healthcare is different so I would have preferred she focus on the plan and its importance and then let determine if I wanted to pay for it. Not sure rates for naturopathic doctors are consistent so I'd suggest shopping around and getting personal referrals.

I contacted Dr. Abernathy in December, 2012 to ask if she could recommend a Naturopathic Physician in my hometown (as she used to practice here). She said there were none in this area, but was happy to schedule a phone appointment with me. So I scheduled a two hour appt during which Dr. Abernathy asked questions, learning all about my health history and my current diagnosis of cervical dysplasia. I was looking for a natural remedy for the dysplasia and treatment of the HPV virus. We discussed a 3 mo. protocol of supplements, which I decided to try. Great news - 3 months later I was free of dyplasia! Dr. Abernathy also made recommendations for hypothyroidism, which I plan to follow. I contacted her many times via email, all of which she responded to immediately. Subsequent to the normal PAP, I have continued to follow Dr. Abernathy's recommendations for a maintenance protocol. I would recommend her to anyone, and would seek her advice again for other conditions if necessary.

I have the utmost respect for Dr. Abernathy. Her extensive knowledge of natural medicine and her sincere desire to help people heal was obvious from my first meeting with her, where she listened to my problems like a friend and then gave advice as a medical professional. She keeps up to date with the latest medical research, follows up with me after a visit, and is willing to work with my irregular schedule. I definitely recommend Dr. Abernathy to anyone who wants a holistic approach to their healthcare.

I have been a patient of Dr. Crystal Abernathy since April of 2004. I initially met with Dr. Abernathy as a follow-up to my treatment for breast cancer. After seeing a variety of specialists associated with my treatment for cancer, it has been very beneficial to consult with a naturopathic doctor who takes a holistic approach to my care. I have continued to see Dr. Abernathy to improve my overall health and have been grateful for the excellent care she has provided. I have found her to be consistently thorough, knowledgeable, and professional.

Wow! Whoever wrote the other review, must have confused Dr. Abernathy with someone else. I went to see Dr. Abernathy for a number of issues: an upper respiratory infection I couldn't shake, a thyroid issue, high cholesterol, CRP, etc. Upon my first visit, I was impressed by her scientific approach to her methods: she brought study after study to my attention in support of her ND philosophy. We spent 2.5 hours going over my medical history during which time, she took pages of notes and addressed each of my symptoms (related and unrelated to my reasons for seeing her) in a very holistic way. She recommended a powerful natural antibiotic that cured the infection very quickly, and within three months, all my blood work came back with a remarkable improvement. With Dr. Abernathy, you will have a connection with your medical professional that you won't have with a regular MD. I highly recommend her.
