Treated my bipolar with just depression meds. Doesn’t listen. Said I just worry too much but I have every reason to when you aren’t educating me or treating me properly. Leaving him!

Excellent doctor. Been with him since he had his own practice. Working through CCNC is a pain. If he weren’t such a good doctor I would change doctors because of the policies of the practice. My son went there and saw andifferent doctor on video. That was a nightmare. Even after a warning from me, he was prescribed his “drug of choice” which was Xanax. Within 6 months he overdosed on fentanyl and died. This happened two days after he filled his script for the Xanax. The Xanax didn’t kill him but it was a horrible decision on the doctor’s part after being told that he had an addiction issue. A video conference as a first visit is not sufficient.

Dr. Cusi is one of the best doctors not just psychiatrist I've ever had and I and my daughter have had plenty including doctors at Duke. He truly wants to help you and isn't just there to get you in and out in a hurry. He's very knowledgeable and compassionate and is willing to do everything he can to give you the very best care.

I have been a patient of Dr. Cusi for 10 years with being diagnosed with adult ADD. He always has my best interest in mind. He supports every decision I make like wanting to stop medication, and doesn't get frustrated when I try off my medicine and realize it was a horrible idea! He always works towards my goals with me. He also talks with me about life problems and gives me advice when he doesn't have to. Dr. Cusi always has a smile on his face and is truly a great person! I highly recommend him as a doctor! His staff can be a little less than perfect but being his patient it totally worth any obstacle they may cause you!

I was put on a medication for bipolar that did not suit well for me and i was told to stop taking per dr cusi orders but was never even offered to come in for new meds. I felt awful so I took it upon myself to come in and I called ahead of time and was told walk in hours were 8 am to 3 pm I walked in at 1pm and was told they can stop walk ins at any time so they could not see me! What kinda place deals with mental health patients and is treated this way? It's so dangerous and they do not care about their patients! So disgusted with their treatment of people! I will recommend this place to anyone!! Horrible horrible place!

he has quite the reputation. i can't get an appointment with him though because his office staff are absolutely terrible. they need a waiting list for patients who no-show so that others can get worked in. THE STAFF AT THIS OFFICE ARE TERRIBLE AND SHOULD BE FIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!

Both my son and I have bipolar disorder and saw Dr. Cusi as our treating psychiatrist. This man is tops in his field. He took an interest in the fact that I also have a chronic pain condition and researched that with colleagues at Duke. He treated the whole person, not just one disorder. He keeps up on new treatments instead of being stuck in history. I cannot thank this man enough for what he has done for my life.
