Dr. Yao has been my primary care doctor for many years. She is knowledgeable, kind and supportive.

I have had several issues with Dr. Yao and am about to switch to a different primary care doctor. On two occasions, I needed to email her a second time after not getting any response to the original email sent 3-4 days earlier. In both cases, the eventual responses were cold and impatient. I agree with the other review that there may be language and cultural differences that could be issues for some patients (and were for me). For example, I was very irritated that during each visit she pestered me about why I wasn't married or at least dating and asked whether that depressed me. I felt her behavior was noisy and not professional in the context of a routine physical examination.

I have never had a doctor like Shana Yao. Shana is so personable, knowledgeable and friendly. I never dread going to the doctor because I know I am in great hands. Shana not only listens to your concerns but makes good recommendations. A plus plus!!!

Dr. Yao is the best physician I have ever had. She is not only caring and helpful as an excellent physician should be, but she is very knowledgable about up to date health information and is precise with her diagnosis. Combined with a great personality and sense of humor, she is by far the best doctor out there, as evidenced by the appreciation and positive feedback she receives from all of her patients. Going to the doctor is not a dreaded experience when you have a wonderful, intelligent, and kind physician such as Dr. Yao to look forward to seeing. I absolutely adore and love Dr. Yao! She is the best!

Dr. Shana Yao is attentive, knowledgeable, and interactive. She pays attention to her patients and remembers their history. She includes you in your health care and listens to your concerns and addresses your questions. She takes time to listen to you and still maintains a good schedule. I never feel rushed and always feel I am receiving personal attention. Despite issues with the staff of CMG (scheduling and billing issues) I have stayed because of Dr. Yao. SHe is an excellent physician!

Listens well and is not afraid to order diagnostic tests. Like most Drs in urban/suburban areas - very busy and not allocated as much time as she would like. Very much appreciates patients who do their own research and are informed. While she offers up meds to resolve heath issues, if you reject and commit to life changes, she is supportive. The new failities in Mt. View are awesome - much better than the old Sunnyvale locale.

Dr. Yao is very good listener and remembered very well my case. She is usually very helpful and ready to order all requested tests which helps a lot with the diagnose. Overall my opinion is very high and I did not find any problems communicating with her.

She is a good medical doctor, but sometimes talks too much. She'll do whatever you want her to do.

Willing to do medical tests and classify them such that they will be covered by your insurance. However, she'll also interview you in front of your parents (not a good idea when you want honest answers from the patient) and she'll also let your parent access your test results.

Overall, she is a good doctor. takes time to talk to you and is a good listener. But has limited English and some cultural differences that some might be put off by.
