Dr. Tang completed my cataract surgery that the surgeon I had gone to could not remove all of my cataract. I found him to be kind and considerate and obviously an excellent surgeon, since I now have excellent sight in that I. Since the surgery I have returned for several office visits and on one occasion had a long wait, However, I can't blame Dr. Tang or his office staff. Many opthamologists refer patients to him and since no one is turned away his office is always busy. There is a shortage of excellent doctors
in almost every field of medicine and we need to be patient if there is a long wait. To me a long wait indicates the the doctor is giving the patients before me the time they need.
Dr. Tang is a highly skilled surgeon , therefore ,his services are in high demand.
These are stressfull times for us all and his office and Dr. Tang do their best to give every patient what they need!

This was likely the worst experience I've had with a doctor in my life. He had absolutely no bed side manners. I waited for over an hour and he came and talked down to me for about 5-10 minutes and never gave me a straight answer to any of my questions. I decided to go to another specialist.

I had a tear in my retina that Dr. Tang found at 1:30 PM on May 5. He told me he could seal the tear with a laser procedure in his office and that he could do it a couple hours later that same day. I agreed and he performed the laser procedure. I went back today for my two-week check-up and the procedure was 100% effective - the tear was sealed and there were not any further tears. Dr. Tang's knowledge and skill led to this successful outcome but his willingness to perform the procedure the same day also speaks to his high regard for his patient's peace of mind. I will highly recommend him to friends of mine in need of serious eye care. Plus he takes the time to explain the medical situation -- many Doctors don't take the time to do that -- and that patient education is an important part of being proactive in the future with regard to your eyes.

This Doctor is a FREAK. I only needed 1 visit to move on. If you choose to visit Dr. Tang be ready to have him rush around in a very uncomfortable and agitated fashion. Dr Tang loves to talk down to his patients and staff and should you ask him a very direct question he will direct you to his Web site for more insight. with a giggle Dr Tang is without question the oddest and most self absorbed eye doctor in metro Boston. Enjoy your visits and wait for the show to begin. This Doctor is a Nut!

From noon when my eyesight failed in my right eye I saw two Ophthalmologist offices near my home and was then referred to Dr. Tang. After a total of 50 miles of travel, Dr.Tang fit me into his schedule and repaired a severe rip in the vitreous. He was willing to stay after normal hours and I was good to fly out the next day on vacation. From onset to repair was a total of less than six hours.
Never have I had such timely and caring healthcare.

I woke up the day following Thanksgiving 2016 in Athens GA visiting my daughter with an unusual crescent shaped area where my vision was distorted in my right eye. The following day, on Saturday the area increased to about 50% of my vision in that eye and on Sunday things got even worse. I saw my daughter's optometrist in Athens on Monday and he diagnosed me with a detached retina. I called home to my optometrist and got a referral to see Dr. Tang and an appointment for the next day and flew home immediately. On that Tuesday, November 29th Dr. Tang confirmed the detachment in my right eye but also said the retina in my left eye was also detaching. Based on my phone call just the day before, Dr. Tang had already scheduled me for surgery on Thursday, December1st. Talk about being proactive! Oddly, to me, he operated on my left "good eye" first, and 5-days later, on December 6th on the eye where my vision was the worst, but he said the reason was to save as much of my "good vision" as possible. He said at the conclusion of each surgery that everything went well and that he was optimistic for my outcome. He also prepared me for the operations by saying that I'd experience quite a bit of pain post surgery and prescribed pain medication in addition to numerous eye drops. I had no pain at all either during surgery or afterwards and never used any of the pain medication. All of my follow-up visits proved that everything was progressing well. December 2016 was a tough month for me, especially in the 2-weeks following surgery because of having to deal with the gas bubbles introduced into each eye, but my vision did improve slowly, day by day. On February 3rd 2017 I had another follow-up visit with Dr. Tang and he treated me in his office for a slight tear in the retina in my right eye, the one that had fully detached. On February 7th, a week after the last bubble fully dissolved, I saw my optometrist to be fitted for new glasses. And a week later, after they arrived, I once again had my vision back, perfectly in my left eye and with a bit of distortion, but still very good in my right eye. I finally felt safe to drive and did so for the first time in almost 3-months! Just a few days ago, on March 9th I had my next follow-up visit with Dr. Tang. We are both very pleased with the results of my operations -- 20/20 vision in my left eye and 20/25 vision in my right eye. I don't need glasses for reading or working on the computer, and with my new glasses I have no problems for distance. My next visit isn't scheduled for another 9-months, December 11, 2017. Dr. Tang basically gave me my eyesight back because of being so proactive when my sight was so vulnerable and with his skills when he was doing the procedures. I'm very grateful.
