I was treated by Dr. Nicholas for over a year. He was a nice man. However, after the first few information-gathering sessions, I paid for 50-minute casual chats, often entirely off the subject of my condition (which was debilitating.) I was shy and dreaded to speak of the trauma which caused me to need treatment. I found that I could easily control the session by asking Dr. Nicholas questions about himself--not good. He never suggested any treatment plan, and there was a total lack of energy in his approach. He even complained to me about his work, and I genuinely empathized; but question the fact that this was "therapy." I am sorry to say that he twice made harshly judging remarks, which I have had to work to overcome since. Though he is a nice person, I would not recommend him as a doctor.
