If I could give negative stars I would give Dr Lazarus a negative 2. I agree with all the bad reviews. I actually wanted to make an appointment with another dr because I read all of the reviews before. But the week of my appointment the office called to let me know that that dr was leaving and dr Lazarus was the only one available.

Unfortunately she is just as other’s have described. She has horrible bed side manner. She’s extremely unprofessional, rude, arrogant, and condescending. The main reason I came in is to figure out why I have been sick for 5 months. I also had tests showing that I have a hyperthyroid. The symptoms of that had only been going on for a month or 2 at that time though and I already had tests suggesting that so I wasn’t worried about figuring that out because it was already down the path to being figured out. She ignored all of my concerns about how I had been feeling for the past 5 months. She told me it’s just allergies.

I’ve had allergies all my life and they don’t make me throw up, nauseous, light headed, dizzy and out of breath to the point where I can’t take a shower or cut vegetables without having to sit down to take a break and have to have someone come over to help me do things. Allergies don’t make it hard for me to talk because I start losing my voice when I do (which was happening as I was talking to her and she acknowledged). They don’t make me have a cough off and on for months at a time. They don’t make my throat hurt so bad that I have to eat soup because anything else makes it worse. I tried to bring it up again and ask if allergies can really come on suddenly like that and make me feel like this for so long. She told me, word for word, that she’s “not worried about all those symptoms, you think you caught something in Costa Rica, some weird virus or sickness that is hard to figure out or cure. But that’s not what’s going on “. And I told her no that’s not what I think at all I just want to figure out why I’ve been feeling like this for so long and get better.

The only reason I told her that I got sick when I was in Costa Rica is because it’s true, and I know that if you don’t give your dr all the information it’s gonna make it harder for them to help you. But instead of realizing this she made up a whole scenario and told me what I was thinking, instead of asking. She prescribed me allergy medicine, which, surprise surprise, didn’t work because allergies aren’t like this.

The only thing she did right was order the labs to check for my thyroid. I have a feeling that it’s only because I already had labs suggesting that I had a hyperthyroid and it was an easy conclusion to come up we with. When she called me to find out if I’d made an appointment with the endocrinologist, she asked if my thyroid meds were working, but not if the allergy meds were. I told her the thyroid meds weren’t making me feel any better but they did bring my heart rate down a little. She ignored the part about them not making me feel any better and just gave me another prescription for the same kind of medication and another one the endocrinologist would have given me. She asked how I’m going to get my prescription cus I was in another state at the time, and when I told her my dad will pick it up for me and send it to me she said “UGH WHY ARE YOU MAKING THINGS SO DIFFICULT”. That is EXTREMELY unprofessional, and it doesn’t make anything more difficult for her and isn’t any of her business because she’s still sending it to the same pharmacy and doesn’t need to do anything different.

I will not be going back to her, but I am going back to see another Dr so I’ll update once I’ve seen them.
