I don't understand some of these comments. I was treated in a timely and professional manner. What I did do was fill out all of my paperwork online so I didn't have to do it at the office. The office had all of my files from my main MD available for my first appointment. They referred me to an MRI and found my back was worse than I thought. I'd had a few x-rays over the years but no MRI which showed the degeneration of my disks. I since had one injection in my back which is outpatient minor surgery and I'm scheduled for 2 more. My pain has already been reduced at least 50%. If you are looking for just pain medication, this place is not for you. They treat the whole person, both physically and mentally. I am so glad I finally got help with my pain from such a great group.

What a heartless moron. People , you have a choice . You do not have to put up with this jerk or his PA Jessica. Get away before he does more damage . you are allowed to seek a different doctor . just do not get a script from your new doctor till you tell this moron off.

Dr. Frank is not a physician, he is a man who apparently likes to distribute pain and has a God complex! He doesn't care if you're in pain! What he cares about is having control! No matter what your diagnosis, you will be treated like a junkie out to "score drugs"! If you are truly in need of a caring doctor, I strongly recommend that you go to someone else!

Dr. Frank is an amazing doctor. I really feel like he listens to me and takes me seriously. The only drawback? He's not hard on the eyes so I sometimes have trouble concentrating on what he's saying! Is that a drawback?

Appt. date: 07.17.06 > The APA office failed to request records from my long treating prior M.D. despite having been informed of the value of his records and a release being signed prior to the visit . After I went across town and retrieved the records, I was informed that Dr. F. didn't need the records or MRI film until the appt. It took over an hour for Dr. F. to see me in the overcrowded and understaffed facility (nurse and I had to walk single file through the box & supply packed hall order to reach the exam room) > Impressions: 1) VERY much over-interested in hard intervention [SI injections followed by Nerve Burning @ sacrum], 2) completely changed my Rx regime over to a more addictive, toxic and MUCH less managable group of drugs, 3) total reliance on physical exam instead of ordering an Sacral MRI as well as totally dismissing the diagnosis which secured Federal Disability nine months ago...I could go on, but only 1000 characters...look in the forums >AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.

I find it tough to understand these negative comments. This guy literally got me walking again. And "looked drugged himself?" Are you kidding me?! He's one of the most professional, attentive doctors I've ever visited. In fact, I chatted in the waiting room with another patient of his, and after having visited five other doctors between the both of us, we agreed that we were so blessed and grateful to have finally found Dr. Frank. We decreased the side effects of my medicines (that had ruined my life as much as the pain did.) He made me understand my pain and how we were going to fix it. He talked to me like a person, and understood everything I'd been trying to explain to other doctors for years. I can't tell you all enough what my life is not compared to what it was before I went to Austin Pain Associates and Dr. Frank.
