I have had nothing but a pleasant experience with the personnel at Tillamook Regional Medical Center except for Dr. Cox. She was horribly rude, curt, uncompassionate, controlling and did nothing to help me. Her solution to helping me was closing the door. It wasn't until an hour later that a new ER doctor came on shift that I was treated. I don't recall the last time that I was treated so poorly by anyone in any profession.

This little girl is endangering people's lives everyday she goes into the Emergency department and puts on a white coat which she clearly should not have. Absolutely no common sense or medical knowledge. I am afraid for any patient that receives this girl in the emergency room as their life is in great danger. I brought my 6 year old little boy into the E.R. he was extremely sick and has long standing history since age 2 of reoccurring pneumonia and history of asthma he had been sick for almost a week and had a severe non-stop cough to the point he couldn't catch his breath and was turning blue from coughing. I knew without any doubt my son had pneumonia and was in great need of medical attention. I rushed him late at night down to the nearest E.R. at which point upon getting out of the car he started vomiting from coughing so hard. I got him into the Emergency department and the provider was Jessi Cox. I was instantly appalled when she showed no sign of concern for my little boy who was clearly struggling to breathe. She just stood there and starred at me and my son. I asked for prednisone to help open his airway and to get his cough under control. I was told NO I will NOT give him any prednisone. I was in absolute horror. I couldn't believe what I was being told. As I stated before this is a little boy who has a long standing well documented history of severe asthma and easily aquires pneumonia. This girl did NOT even perform an exam on my son. Did NOT give him any medications and furthermore decided to give me a lecture telling me that I was NOT to bring my son back into the E.R. department for any reason and I needed to find someone else for my son to see as the E.R. department is NOT the place that I needed to bring my son and that she refused to treat him. She was extremely rude, snotty and downright cold. She discharged my little boy within 30 minutes of bringing him through the door. No exam, NO medications, NO HELP WHAT SO EVERY AND TOLD ME NOT TO BRING HIM BACK FOR ANY REALLY THAT SHE WILL NOT TREAT HIM. I was in tears as I scooped my son up into my arms to leave. I was in fear for my childs life and I was being turned away by this young inexperienced girl. My son had a fever of 104% and climbing, his stomach and chest were concaving as he struggled to breathe and he couldn't get a breathe as he couldn't stop coughing. His color was bluish purple. There were no other medical providers within an hour and a half radius at this time of the late night. I was in such horror and fear as I left it's something no mother should ever have to experience. I immediately got on the phone to my mom who told me to get my son out to a PORTLAND hospital immediately. My mom rushed to my home and we packed him in the car and drove an hour and a half to the nearest portland hospital to their emergency department. Upon arriving the staff looked at my son and marked him URGENT taking us back immediately. They put an oxygen monitor on him and his oxygen sat rate was at 84% for a boy his age it should be 99-100% they slapped oxygen on him and the E.R. Dr got an I.V. in him immediately an administered prednisone. This was the same medication I had asked for a was told NO by jessi cox. The portland hospital admitted my son and he was hospitalized for 4 days with pneumonia,& asthma exacerbation. If I would have listened to this young girl trying to play Dr. In Tillamook and taken my son home he could have died. He was in dire straits when I took him into that tillamook hospital that night and this young girl wouldn't listen to me, refused to help him, gave him no medications at all, no oxygen. Nothing. And furthermore told me not to bring my son back. What kind of emergency department tells someone not to come back for any reason? This is grounds for a medical malpractice lawsuit. Furthermore the Medical boards have been notified. This girl is going to kill someone with her negligence. I am writing this to warn others this is extremely serious and extremely scary we have inexperienced people like this in the E.R. department. I have heard horror stories very similar to mine by others who encountered this young girl in the E.R here in Tillamook....she's turning people away with nothing and no treatment this seems to be her M.O. so what happens when she kills someone due to pure intentional negligence?
