If I could rate Dr Sobanko with 20 stars I would! He performed Mohs surgery on my sister two months ago. He has hands of gold. He is tops, the best, in his field. He is the kindest, most professional, most knowledgeable surgeon. I have all the confidence in the world in him.

Incredibly talented surgeon. Great bedside manner. He is a perfectionist. I had melanoma on my chin and lost all the skin on my chin and a portion of my lip. Dr. Sobanko did an incredible job and you almost can't tell that I even had surgery. I saw a couple negative reviews on this site and honestly I think they are fake. They don't describe Dr. Sobanko. He is professional, talented and skilled. I wouldn't go to anyone else.

I am honored to have Dr. Sobanko perform Mohs surgery on my skin cancer on my nose and face. He is brilliant. A perfectionist. Performed excision and reconstruction at same time. Still healing but it's looking good. Incisions aligned to natural lines in face.

This doctor completely messed up my scar revision. I had another doctor fix it. I told the doctor I had it as UPENN and he said, I am sorry you and I have fixed many of his mistake. i had another woman come in who he miss up her nose from a cancer biopsy. My scar was from a dog bit. He pushes surgery and then mess up the surgery and tell you it is your skin color that is the problem. No only is he bad as surgery but he will blame his mistake on you being a type 1 on the Fitzpatrick scale. This mean if your are naturedly blonde or red with white skin and mess it and say racist thing about your skin. He is a bad doctor and hate light skin white poeple. This is called reverse racism.

This doctor takes your money and then run when the surgery goes bad. He is just trying to sell you on surgery and push surgery over other option. Then he tries and have his nurses handle everything.

I when for mohs surgery because of skin cancer on my chin and received an infection. The sutures also came apart. The Sobanko denied if but I went to 2 other doctor that said I had an infection on my chin that caused the suture to come apart. This doctor did not wash his hands, or cover his hair and his beard had food crumbles in it. lastly he smelled of armpits.

This doctor had overall bad hygiene. He did not was his hands and his hair was dirty. I can not believe that UPENN would have such as dirty doctor on staff. They need to teach me to wash his hands and was his hair.

Dr. Sobanko gave me a hyperkeratotic scarring during my scar revision and my scar is worse. He would not diagnose this scar or help to fix this scar. He even had me come to the office for an appointment just to talk and tell me to put make-up over it. I can not put make-up over a hyperkeratotic scar because it looks crusty because it is a hyperkeratotic scar meaning the skin was thicken and developed crust. He would not help me to find another doctor to correct this horrible scar he created and he would not fix this scar but tell me he did a good job when all my friends ask me what happen, who is the doctor that did this to you . Lastly he admitted to scar did not look good and try to tell me it was satisfactory and that was okay, that is was not good. When he saw blackhead on the wound, Dr. Sobanko start to take them away then stopped and whisper "this is a pain."

I have been suffering from Erythema dyschromicum perstans (EDP) skin condition since last 4 years. Upon recommendation of another dermatologist at UPenn, I made an appointment with Dr. Joseph Sobanko for a laser treatment that can lighten my pigmentation. I am very glad that I reached out to Dr. Sobanko for help. He is very professional, skillful and possesses naturally pleasing personality. He always took out time to explain all pros and cons of the procedure/settings he was using. He understands how skin issues can bring down person’s confidence and how it impacts their social life. He is extremely supportive, provides encouragement and emotional help throughout this process. I always felt that a person needs to be a good human to become a great doctor, and Dr. Sobanko turned to be both. After seeing so many dermatologists in Tri-State area, I can easily say that he is the best.
