My fiancé had back surgery in April at Cabell Huntington and dr Phan was amazing! He walked me through everything that he did. If I ever had to have a surgery like that I would request to have him do it!

Dr.Phan made me clown and put my life in danger. I visit him for his second opinion he made me so much scared advised me in Canada there is no medical help for me, also told me I DON'T KNOW nothing for me.I go back to previous surgeon he told me you suffered for few years plus my surgery became a bigger, now I have to wait another 9 month for the surgery, I suffused all due to his stupidity.

I rushed my mother to the emerg. On dec 4 2012 to find out that she had a tumour on her right side with large amount of swelling which paralyzed my moms whole left side. Mom had non small cell lung cancer met to bone lymph. Her oncologist at the sunnybrook failed to notice it! Dr.Phan came with in 24 h and was so helpfull kind patient and realistic something that we did not get till that point in moms treatment! Surgery was done dec 7 2012 there wore no suprises everything that he said he will do he did. After the surgery he made time fo us explaining and answering any question . He was monitoring moms progress and that made my mom happy ! He saved moms life we are very blessed to have had dr.Phan on our side! Thank you!

He is great, he is frank, but he also tries to give you courage. He came into my room every day after surgery and like someone mentioned in an earlier post, I only had a small patch shaved at the base of my skull and that was really nice. Besides his expertise and knowledge, he is compassionate and supportive and I really think that this makes a difference for any patient. He was very nice to my family too. His entire team is excellent, the nurses are absolutely great, they are devoted and knowledgable and compassionate, they do an amazing job taking care of all the patients. Great team.

Dr. Phan had noticed my serious condition and voluntarily offered an earlier date of my brain surgery. He was professionally frank about the diagnosis of glioblastoma but, at the same time, he provided me with enough explanation, his personal views and simple human touch to make me relatively comfortable with the shocking news. After successful surgery, he came several times to my hospital room showing his care and exceptional bedside manners. Only then I learned that a very narrow path of shaved hair (in contrast with shaving the entire left side of my skull) was done intentionally. Dr Phan told me that, in his view, women heal and feel much better when their post-surgery appearance is less affected by the procedure. Excellent point! Many thanks for your care, Dr. Phan!

Dr. Phan is the best neurosurgeon in the world! He removed my subdural hematoma last year and I can't thank him enough.
