Biography
Jeffrey C. Dawes, MD is Board-Certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, practicing in Calgary, Alberta. Rigorous training and expertise support his purpose in achieving excellent outcomes for his patients. Whether they seek skin cancer treatment (Mohs micrographic surgery) and reconstruction, skin rejuvenation or aesthetic surgery of the face, breast and body—his attention to detail is rivaled only by his commitment to patient care. Dr. Dawes MD has extensive surgical training in areas ranging from aesthetic surgery to major facial trauma, hand injuries, breast reconstruction and microsurgery. In total, Dr. Dawes has acquired 17 years of post-secondary education prior to opening his own practice in 2010. He has two undergraduate degrees (B.Sc., B.Comm.) as well as a Masters degree in Business (MBA) from the University of Calgary. In 2004, he graduated with his MD degree at the same institution and was named valedictorian of his medical school class. Dr. Dawes was accepted into the highly-competitive aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery program at the University of Calgary, where he completed five years of intensive surgical training. Upon successful completion of his fellowship examination, Dr. Dawes became a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He then undertook a coveted one-year postgraduate training fellowship in Mohs micrographic (skin cancer) surgery, which he completed through an American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS)-accredited training program. Dr. Dawes is one of only two plastic surgeons in Canada trained in Mohs surgery, which along with post-cancer soft-tissue facial reconstruction, remains his primary academic interest. Aside from the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada, Dr. Dawes is a member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta, the Alberta Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons and is eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Aesthetic Surgery, American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Aesthetic Surgery.

After having 2 kids I developed Diastasis Recti, which left me looking 6 months pregnant, with lower back pain, and a
weak core, for over 3 years since my son’s birth. I knew I needed to do fix the issue (after eating right and exercising) as, I want to enjoy time with my family, feeling strong and mentally, feeling attractive again. I was referred to Dr Dawes by a friend, booked a consultation. The front end team were friendly, answered all my questions with kindness (and humour!). Every time I’ve been there, I’ve felt welcomed.
Dr Dawes office is beautiful. It’s spotless and very inviting.
There’s coffee table books of before and after pictures (interesting to see). There’s great products to keep your skin glowing for years to come on shelves..and a cozy fireplace..don’t forget to ask for
“fancy water”!
The nursing team are a group of ladies that are caring, funny and knowledgeable.
Upon meeting Dr Dawes for the first time I was impressed by his honesty and his calm demeanour. He doesn’t push treatment, he’s a listener. He informs you of any limitations, he’s not an egotist.
My diastasis recti repair/abdominoplasty was on Jan 27 2022. I was fully prepared for what to expect from the guidance of Dr. Dawes and his whole team. Everything went smooth, no concerns. I’m in the healing phase and Dr Dawes did a follow up to make sure I’m healing well, and following care instructions post surgery.
He was genuinely happy to see the result, I like that he’s pleased, having pride in your work is important.
I’m excited to see more of a result after 6 weeks of healing.
