I've "been around the the block" when it comes to spinal pain. I have justifiable pain. I do NOT want to be grouped with the addicts, although my body is. Dr. Pico understands! Sees the strong person trapped in a enemy body. He went to battle for me. How many doctors do that for you? I have had many, so I know how wonderful, empowering...it is to find them. Dr Pico is kind. Treats patients like they are real people...not trapped robots. I qualify to leave a MD rating, and this doctor deserves the best.

The Worst! Looking for medication management...DON'T! My first visit was a bait and switch, I seen a PA and agreed to try and cut back. The second visit I was told that PA no longer worked there. Every time i went in iit was a different PA, My 2nd visit with a PA named Courtney, she told me to be quiet when I was explaining what was wrong with me, and then told me the less medication I take, the lesser my pain would be?. She talked to me like I was a 5 year old.
She told me that I was hyper sensitive to pain because of the pain meds, and by not taking any I would have no pain...She knew nothing about me and judged me right off the bat.
I finally met Dr Pico, he did not care if I was screaming in pain at home, or he just did not believe anything I told him. I was treated like a drug addict, I told him I was going to see and get a new doctor, He said I should get a second opinion and said he had a list of other pain doctors, I was then handed a 4 page list titled Addiction Specialist!. Very degrading! I asked him to please write my script for what I was taking because I was suffering in pain and he said no, that he was going to continue with the reduction. He did NOT CARE!
I asked him if I filled the script he handed me, because I was out of medication and getting a new doctor the next day if it would mess up me getting the amount I needed to not be suffering and he told me, all I had to do was show my script bottle to the new doctor, what he did not tell me was because he wrote it for two weeks worth, that I would not be able to get a new script filled in till that time was up.
I had to suffer in pain because of him and his judgmental attitude towards me.

I have been taking pain medication for 20 years now. In 1982 I broke my back, had a low back fusion, with bone chips from my hip, and my L5 disk removed, spent 10 months in a body cast.
In 1997 I had an aortic anresyum and my aorta dissected and cut off the blood supply to my mid body, I got gang green blood poisoning a septicemia, They were going to amputate my right leg all the way to my hip, but instead cut it off above my knee, then sliced what was left of my leg up to the hip. They removed 13 pounds of muscle and tissue from my right buttocks all of my gluteus Maximus and minamiss were removed, and around my right hip area. So not only do I have my L5 disk removed, I now sit on what left of the nerve trunk that went down my right leg causing me terrible siadic nerve pain, My rectum is paralyzed and I get stabbing pain in my testical , I also have two ruptured disk above my low back fusion and can not have it repaired because my dissected aorta lays to close to my spine now.
After years of epidurals and radio frequecy burns my nero surgens told me they were sorry, that i would be on medication probabley the rest of my life, and not to do anymore procedures to my back.

In short I get really bad electrical burning stabbing pain, At times it make me yelp a holler in pain, then if it doe not stop I start balling then begging God to make it stop.

Doctor Pico needs to change the name of his practice, It is not about caring for someone in pain, He treated me like an addict and his entire staff have the mind set that everyone is addicted He and his PA's were disrespectful and rude.

Horrible experience! Sounds like they treat all patients that just want help for their pain as drug Seekers. They use intimidate and fear for being on medication that works, to "sell" the patient expensive and invasive surgeries that do not work and perform urine tests, at every office visit, every month for numerous substances at a cost of thousands of dollars to the patient's Insurance Company with the out-of-pocket $300- $500 to patient (depending on the co-pay). Even when the urin test show nothing that is not expected by the doctor, and after paying the office visit co-pays(specialist rate), the urine test deductibles not covered by insurance, plus monthly premiums,..just to get help for the pain, because they only treat pain(?) and nothing else, to then be told they will be taking the patient off all medications (that actually work), with no justification, is not only cruel and abussive but is Mal practice!

Dr. Tristan Pico along with other doctors that refuse to treat pain should be reported and should not call themselves  pain managers. His agenda is to get the patient off all pain medication that works (based on other Google, health grade, reviews,,..he is a nightmare)! I was sickened by their lack of compassion and shocked when I looked at the doctor notes,( make sure you sign for the doctors personal notes to take with you). The doctor stated in the notes things that were never discussed with me, it simply was not me or the office visit I had with him. So after yelling at me for being there to get help with my pain, (my primary care doctor was no longer treating pain patients, along with the other cowards that are unreasonably afraid of the DEA)! They proceeded to misdiagnose me, ignored all information  provided to him (x-rays, MRI's, procedures that were tried and failed) and treated me like a criminal rather than a person wanting a continuity of care from someone claiming to have knowledge about pain. Rather than addressing me as a person and my personal health issues he proceeded to rant about the  DEA this and the DEA that...none of that applied to me, and I did not deserve to be treated in that manner. By the way, if doctors keep records and only prescribe to their patients there is no reason to deny any patient pain meds if they work well for them.   I was there as a confirmed, well documented pain patient, (arthritis, fibroids, and fibromyalgia) with yet another looming health issue not diagnosed yet, that caused further excruciating pain. This would be revealed, by another doctor  not by Picos. His solution invasive "procedures" to cut my nerves, do injections, and try numerous medications that have nothing to do with pain. I asked how that would help  all over pain and the fatigue?  Then he stated he thinks I have fibromyalgia, but completely discounted my pain from that as well. From an article on Fibromyalgia; Fibromyalgia is an illness that causes chronic pain in muscles and ligaments. The vast majority of affected people are women in their mid-30s to late-50s.In addition to muscular pain and stiffness, this ailment can also cause fatigue, sleep problems,..., recent research has revealed some new facts about The level of chemical in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) called substance P, which transmits pain impulses to the brain, is three times higher in people with the disease than in those who do not have the condition. This likely causes someone with fibromyalgia to experience pain more intensly.Using the DEA to justify all the charges to urine tests, 2 week office visits and not prescribing enough to have any quality of life! I requested a tens unit for the pain (which was fully covered by my insurance at the time), however with them, there is a catch, if I wanted it  I had to pay for an office visit to their chiropractor. This is not covered and at a premium charge to me, but if I wanted a Tens unit from them, that was what I had to do.  These doctors are money grubbing and could care less about the patient. 'Stay far from them!!  This would never be accepted in any other practice (even when the possibility of selling and  overdosing on Viagra is there and the demand for  adderall, is high, it has not caused urologists and psychologists to become greedy and intimidate their patients, then deny them the medication. . Can you imagine if their doctors and pharmacies started harassing diabetics when they pick up their needles. or a doctor yelling at them for having their medications counting or counting and monitoring their needles? chronic pain patients need to be able to have a productive life and what works for them just as a diabetic needs what works for him/her. This has to stop I just hope it doesn't take people committing suicide, and lawsuits against these doctors for the under-medication, or non treatment to change things. Treating a patient with fear of the DEA, and telling them lies about legal limits and equivalents and using that to justify excessive billing, demands to appointments, medications that don't work ( financial harassment), urine tests and telling patients it is the law is not acceptable!! From an article in the National Pain Report authorized by Pat Anson January 28th, 2014  "DEA: Doctors and Pharmacies Responsible for Pain Med Denials (not the DEA)" In the National Pain report authorized by Pat Anson Editor DEA spokesman who says “nothing should stand in the way” of a patient getting a legitimate prescription for pain medication filled. DEA spokesman Rusty Payne. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is not trying to limit or ration access to opioid painkillers, according to DEA spokesman “nothing should stand in the way” of a patient getting a legitimate prescription..“We’re not doctors...If something is prescribed for a legitimate medical purpose, we’re certainly not going to get in the way,” said DEA spokesman Rusty Payne.

I have had to deal with several pain clinics in my 61 years on earth. This facility and Dr. Pico in particular are by far the best I have ever dealt with. On time service (something rare in pain care) friendly efficient staff and expert treatment make it the best choice I have ever made in dealing with chronic back pain issues. Bill Thompson

Was so pleased with the entire experience with Dr Pico and his staff. Dr Pico is so caring and concerned. The most caring doctor I believe I have ever seen. I went from coming into the office on crutches and 2 weeks later now walk with no assistance. I cannot thank them enough for giving me my live back.

To those seeking help for their pain, GO ELSEWHERE. Dr. Pico and FNP-BC Daltrey Tyree are a living nightmare to deal with. Extremely un-compassionate and uncaring to those who live with daily and chronic pain. They do not read charts and contradicted themselves on a number of occasions. They push and push their money making injections and don't take suggestions from the patient. I gave them multiple chances and subjected myself to what I consider a form of abuse as I did not want to establish myself at another clinic. Now that I have gone to another clinic, I see the proper care and compassionate doctors I've missed out on all along. I have never been treated so horribly by medical "professionals" as I was by Pico and Daltrey. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS.

Staff is disorganized and dangerous. They tried to give me a medication I had a reaction to and then tried to perform a procedure on the wrong side. If you pay attention to EVERYTHING they do I guess the docs are okay.
