It was a blessing to have Doctor Puranam as my fathers doctor when he was (due to complications) hospitalized with A-fib, diabetes, heart failure, lung issues, skin cancer... Dad almost died. Doctor Puranam was not afraid of sending him for tests and getting other doctors opinions. Doctor Puranam put my fathers health issues on the table and after doing many tests she had three other specialists come in to help make a plan for his recovery. Thanks to her I had one and a half more years with my father. She was nice, happy, smiling and encouraging, she touched his hand to reassure him that she would figure things out. She may seam rough around the edges but this is because she is on a mission to save peoples lives! She is tolerant and explains, but after telling someone three times how to do what they were trained to do, she does not worry about the person who cannot follow instructions she will ask them to step back and she does it herself. We are after all talking life and death.

If it would not be for Dr.Puranam,I would not be here today. She saved my life. I had been in the emergency room for two days and on the Monday morning she came in the room and checked me out. I was checked for everything imaginable, I could not swallow, my throat and ears were extremely soar,I hardly had a voice,I had spiking fevers and severe diarrhea. After sending me for a C.T. scan she talked with Dr.Szeto and discovered I had retro-pharyngeal space abscess in my throat and I needed emergency surgery. The morning after my CT scan she came in my room very early around 7:am to check up on me and told me that I scared her and she had a hard time sleeping that night because she was worried about me. From the moment I met her I found her to be very pleasant and kind. She is an awesome Dr. and I am happy to say that she was my Dr.for my one week stay in hospital. Thank you Dr. Puranam. You are one great lady.

This physician is definitely not a caring, compassionate person....she belittles and berates staff (nurses and other physicians) in front of patients. Her method of communication is by yelling.
