My experience was terrible and I deeply regret ever going to this doctor. He turned out to be uncaring and the expensive operation was a failure leaving me with an asymmetrical face worse than before requiring another Doctor for another operation, pain, inconvenience and yet more expense to repair. I only needed one eye treated yet I believed him when he insisted both needed procedure which turned out to be a very wrong thing to agree to. He has zero regard for keeping patients waiting for hours , never apologised and was dismissive and disinterested when I returned to address my problems. Avoid and go elsewhere if you value the appearance of your face and bank balance.

Most competent eye doctor I have ever used . I have had cataracts removed from each eye and have had no trouble . Both eyes now have 20/20 vision and my eyesight is crystal clear and colours are brilliant . Thank you for your expertise and knowledge,.

Thank you Dr Peter Montgomery and staff for making my cataract surgery and intra ocular lens implant stress free and very rewarding experience. Today is day 9 post op after having my left eye procedure and everything went extremely well. I had to wait 2 weeks after my right cataract and implant operation before I could have my left eye done. My vision is now 20/20 and I couldn’t be more pleased.

Everything is brighter, clearer and I can even do night driving now since my operation. It’s nice to see true colours again.

I had my eye procedure done at Pacific Private Day Hospital in Southport. The staff were very efficient and the treatment I received from the receptionist and nursing staff right through the final recovery stage was very good.

I have no any reservation in recommending Dr Montgomery to my family and friends requiring cataract and implant surgery. Thank you for an excellent job.

As a retired Registered Nurse I have the utmost confidence in going to Dr Montgomery for my eye procedure. I have seen and nursed a lot of his patients for years post operatively following eye surgery and they have all been uneventful procedures. He is very professional in his dealings with patients and staff.

Today is day 9 following my right cataract extraction and intra ocular lens implant and everything went very well. My right eye vision is now so clear and crisp and colours around me are just so vivid!

Thank you Dr Montgomery and staff in the eye clinic. You have treated me with kindness, respect and courtesy and made me feel that I was an important part of your day.

Terrible! Would never visit this doctor again! He was rude, made me so anxious and left me with no answers. All the support staff were amazing but I will never visit him again. On top of being rude he is so expensive

I recently had a pterygium removed from my left eye. I contemplated ignoring the growth and hoped that it would "go away" however, after much research I learnt that this is not something that goes away on its own and can only be removed by surgery.
I read some fairly gruesome stories on-line. Patients who were in pain (due to the sutures in the eye) for up to a week plus after surgery. Some who experienced a high degree of pain when being in the light, double vision for weeks after the surgery and other complications.
I was pretty scared to say the least.
I met with Dr Peter Montgomery at the Gold coast eye clinic for a consultation and choose to opt for the surgery. I can say from experience that for anyone that is able to travel to the gold coast to have your surgery preformed by Dr Montgomery, I highly recommend you do.
My operation was performed under a General anesthetic which I would have only considered as I could not have coped being awake while this type of surgery was being performed.
After the surgery I felt some discomfort from the sutures which is normal considering you have just had surgery on your eye. However the next day I was expecting some degree of pain but I felt very minimal discomfort. I was able to open my eyes easily and could see clearly. The eye was obviously red and unslightly but the pain was next to nothing.
If you do have a pterygium and are considering surgery get it done sooner rather than later don't let it continue to grow too big. I believe my experience was due to my pterygium being fairly small and only at the beginning stages of growth and my surgeon's extensive experience in these operations. Don't be scared you will be much happier once your eye is white & bright again.

Dr Montgomery at the Gold Coast Eye Clinic is one of the most incompetent medical practitioners that I have ever dealt with. I will never go back to that Dr or the clinic ever again. I wish that I didn't go through Dr Montgomery for my surgery as his skills were below an acceptable level. After causing surgical issues he simply told me to come back for another surgery later to rectify the issue.
