Very through, and reassuring. Had tests done, that were applicable to my symptoms. He made appropriate suggestions for following up with my family doctor.

I went to emergency because of terrible pain in my lower abdomen on the right side. I told Dr.
Hogarth that I had been diagnosed with an ovarian tumour and that I had a date scheduled for
surgery in a few weeks. I explained that this new pain on my right side was different than the pain from the tumour on the left side. I also explained that I was concerned about appendicitis, as the pain was in the area of the appendix. Dr. Hogarth ordered some general bloodwork, but would not do anything else to try and determine what was causing my right side abdominal pain. He left me in an examining room for 4 hours (I was in the emergency department for over 7 hours total), before returning to tell me that my bloodwork looked fine and that there was no sense in doing anything else, including ultrasound, because I was going to be having surgery in a few weeks time anyway. It turned out that when I did have that surgery, along with the removal of my tumour, I was found to have Acute Appendicitis and my appendix was removed. It clearly could have burst in the time that I was waiting for surgery and this Doctor acted like it didn't matter. He was extremely negligent in this case.
