Dr Shaw is fine, but other doctors are lazy and lack simple knowledge - they tried to persuade me that rash on my baby's face was acne, and not Food allergy - and that it might not disappear until she is 6 months!! After I had a second opinion, I changed my diet, and rash went away within 3 days!!

Dr. Shaw is great. True - it's hard to see her for a regular visit, but I always schedule annual exams with her, and the other doctors in her group are wonderful. She runs a tight ship and is on top of current health issues. She talks quickly and doesn't come across as super warm and fuzzy, but she's great with kids and very professional.

There has been a change in office staff here, so the tension that existed years ago seems to be gone. I am never disappointed by Dr. Shaw. She has an amazing memory and can point you in the direction you need to go whatever the problem. The other Drs in the practice are all very nice, and we make our well visits with any of them. I do with there was a male physician on staff though, having a pre-teen boy who is asking to see a male now.

My three kids have been patients of Dr. Shaw for many years. She is hard to get an appointment with, but the other doctors are always available for sick visits. She runs a very good practice and someone always calls you back after hours for emergencies or just questions. Dr. Shaw is very bright and can help with many issues. She is open minded and allows parents to be involved in their child's healthcare decisions. She also keeps track of all the work that goes on in her practice. This is not true for all doctors. We left another practice in New Providence before we came to Dr. Shaw because they had no idea what was going on with my son after he had been to the hospital in an ambulance with a severe asthma attack. I have always found the staff to be helpful and nice. This is a great overall pediatrician.

Dr. Shaw is somewhat cold and not at all personable. She rarely talks. Her office staff can be rather nasty. I'm sure Dr. Shaw is knowledgeable enough, but I believe a doctor should be someone who acts as though he/she cares about you or the patient.

After trying 4-5 practices when I moved to NJ from CT, I found the right one here. We have gone to this practice for 4 years. I have 3 kids, including one with some learning disabilities. Dr. Shaw is extremely knowledgable and great at helping me navigate what is best for my son. I often fax her my questions with regard to my son, and she calls me with an answer later that day. I moved 25 minutes away, but they always manage to fit me in to the schedule at a time that works for me, and I've never had to wait too long.
