I would do anything to know what I know now and never have surgery through this Doctor...anything. His staff and waiting is fine. Who cares if surgery is done right, but..if mutilated, you will never get your life back. Drive hours, get out of Brandon.

Would someone please find us an alternative to Armas? I've read the reviews - after leaving 1 myself almost 6 years ago... these recent ones are accurate and we're not the only ones feeling this way. I'm not happy for wasting almost 2 hours everytime I go for an insertion when it should not take more than 20 minutes. I make my appts 6 months in advance only to find out that I'm #10 to be called in almost an hour to even get started (no problem paying in advance). Not only is front desk staff different every time I go in, but there is no continuity with the nurse staff either. This started happening almost 4 years ago & has only been getting progressively worse at the Riverview office. I've been researching for almost a week now & cannot find a convenient alternative. Ideas anyone?

The 1st problem with the office was receiving a letter saying I needed to schedule a repeat pap " due to your last one being unsatisfactory." This letter was received 2 months after the original pap!! And, the day I was leaving for a 3 1/2 week vacation to Australia & NZ! My husband handled the whole thing the next day and found out THEY HAD DONE IT SO FAST THEY DID NOT GET A GOOD SAMPLE! Whenever I ask Dr. Armas about my blood results for pellets, he gets real short and snappy. When I had to wait for 1 1/2 hr for my appt, i let him know it was inconvenient. He said they had an emergency, I said then it's appropriate to give the patient the choice to stay or reschedule! He got bent out of shape! If I hadn't had pellets scheduled in 2 weeks, I would have quit his practice then. I go back in for my pellets, you have to pay up front, and I had another hour wait! There are lots of other good Dr.'s, out there who do bio-hormones. Don't be treated like a $ waiting to be harvested!!

I went to visit this doctor for post-hysterectomy bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. I was told by the insurance biller my "insurance is great" and I would only have to pay $175 per pellet insertion. Going in for my first appointment, I was told I had to pay almost double that "just in case the insurance doesn't pay". I challenged this, as I'd only budgeted for what I'd been told I'd need to pay and they refused to budge. Given that I already felt iffy about the poor service from this practice, this level of greed and poor patient care was the needle that broke the camel's back. Moving on.

I've had a terrable experience...out of the last six scripts, only one was called into the pharmacy as promised. The other scripts required multipul phone calls, getting past around, etc. In the last year, twice I've been called at the last minute to let me know the doctor wouldn't be available and that I needed to reschedule! Really? I have to request time off from work in advanced. Obviously, they don't care. The straw the broke the camel's back was the most painful mammogram I've had in my life...and I'm not young! Not only that, but I was called by some diagnostic facility to remind me of an appointment I knew nothing about. Evidently, Dr. Armas' office scheduled me to have another xray and didn't tell me about the appointment or the reason. Really? What Dr. office does that? They need to stop the cattle call and start taking care of the patient. However, this is one patient they will never have to worry about again! I wouldn't let them take care of my pet buffalo!

Had surgery scheduled for a Hystorectomy in 2009 in which I was advised I needed a Cystocele and Rectocele. After the surgery I became impacted and went to Brandon Hospital where the surgery was performed. They administered an emema and made me push as hard as I could. The pain was unimaginable. at this time - I now know I ripped the surgery... I went back to Dr. Armas immediately after this procedure in so much pain- finally after three years several infections and being on pain meds, he tells me I need the surgery again. I am now seeing two specialists to fix what I didn't even know was wrong. This has honestly been the worst experience of my life and I do not recommend Dr. Armas to anyone.

Dr. Armas always runs 2 hrs behind. I have never in the last 4 yrs I have seen him been seen in less than a 2 hr wait past my appt. time. He is rushed, short and has terrible bedside manners. He seems burned out & never smiles. I also had bioidentical hormone pellets done 3 times with him. I started having complications, including an abnormal mammogram, and asked for the copies of my bloodwork and what was in the pellets that he inserted in me, he acted offended. I got the records and found out that even though each of my blood tests showed that I already had high estrogen he was also putting estrogen in my body in the pellets. Ladies do not let him or anyone else put hormones in you unless you see your bloodwork and know exactly what is in the pellets. I thought I could put up with Dr. Armas' lateness, rushing, short and lack of bedside manners but I cannot put up with his arrogance and offensiveness when just asking questions. I trusted this doctor but found out I should not have.

I visited Dr. Armas 8/24/11- for a gyn. problem- I had spotting between period-in my mid forties. I have seen Dr. Armas for the last two years-and had switched because he did bhrt. I stopped thearpy 1 year ago. I came prepared to the office visit- with questions in hand. I was a little nervous because my Aunt had died of Ova-cancer. I saw him for about 5 min- he didn't answer my questions and I felt like I was in a cattle call- pt. mill.- He had one hand in my V and one foot out the door- he did schedule a saline sonogram and ca-125 test in office. I than preceeded to checkout and waited another 20 min.- than they couldn't do my in office sonogram until the end of Oct.- I stated I'm going to worry for another 2mo? she rudley stated it's only 1 1/2 months I said I'll go to another dr.-she than came up with an appt. in 2wks.- I left and went to another dr.-This is your health and you shouldn't be treated like this- I only see gyn 1xyr-I urge you to see a doctor who isn't so busy.
