The most arrogant Lady I have come across. Mean Spirited!

I first met Dr. Swann in 2003. I had a high risk pregnancy and although she did not deliver my baby, she gave me the BEST prenatal care I have ever experienced! (I have 3 children, so I know...) I was recently back in touch with her - from all the way across the country - on advice for peri-menopause. Again, she gave me a "miracle," cure for my symptoms, with great care and concern for me, both prior to treatment and after- without some outrageous expense, as was mentioned by someone earlier. As to what was written about her being less than capable and kind, I have never experienced anything but loving kindness and genuine concern from her. What physician would leave their cell and home phone# on their answering machine that doesn't have the upmost respect and concern for her patients and staff?!!! If a person is going to write a negative review about staffing issues then they should at least be a patient, right?! This is the most dedicated, knowledgeable physician I have ever met- and she works with naturopathy! Go to Dr. Swan yourself, be well and be blessed! She is a gift!

The best doctor, healthcare provider, teacher and mentor I've had the pleasure of meeting. I've known Dr. Swan for twenty-one plus years. She delivered my son and has treated every member of our family. Her care is top notch. Her advice is candid and accurate. Everyone in our family has found Dr. Swan to easy to talk with. She is balanced, professional, knowledgeable and wise. Her scope of care spans from neonate, to geriatric. Thank you for your years of treating my family

I've been a patient of Dr. Swans since before my birth. I've come to her for almost every health concern I have faced throughout my life. Not only is she knowledgeable, but she always looks out for my best interest, health wise and financially. She has always done everything she knew to aid me in whatever ailment I was currently dealing with. Even for my annual Pap smear, I've always felt safe and well taken care of. When I have a child, I will certainly see that she is my primary doctor just as my mother did.

When I found out I was prego, I was excited and of course, very nervous. I never liked hospitals and always had a mistrust for western doctors. When I finally found Dr Farra Swan and her office manager, Gail Phalen-- I was more than happy- I was relieved and felt a kind of satisfied i have only felt a few other times in my life. I was still in college, obtaining my BFA and with my mate. Through the whole pregnancy experience, my immediate environment was less than savory- going to my office visits was one of my main saving moments. No matter what's occurred in my reality since that time (and since the 46 hrs of labor and 11 stitches)- I can always look back at that time with utter fondness. From my daughter's birth, I made an amazing couple of elder female friends, family, life-long trusty doctor, and my daughter's full faith in Dr Swan as HER doctor and Gail as her GiGi (and Gail's children as her sister and brada)... They have been a true blessing for me and my lack of familia-- I thank the Universe for them all the time!!! oni e dakini

Farra may have been good in the past, but her time as a home birth attendant should be over. She is old, and not capable of moving around well. I have serious concerns should the need arise to act quickly in an emergency situation.
She does not follow evidenced-based practice, and will coerce and manipulate you to go along with what she wants, simply for her convenience.
She does not respect her clients, and doesn't even seem to enjoy or be interested in helping women give birth. She is cheap, and it shows in her office. She relies on her students/assistants and their supplies instead of buying her own, including a waterproof doppler, otoscope, etc.
She does not come to your house for a pre-birth visit, and doesn't want to be "put out" by an inconveniently timed birth.
She acts entitled and superior, and I could tell she cares more about the paycheck than anything else.
She does not follow the typical model of care that you think of when you think of home birth attendants, especially midwives. If you are looking for the "best of both worlds" by having a doctor that delivers at home, just go with a midwife. The care will be better.

Dr. Swan has delivered both of my babies at home. It was an amazing experience for myself and husband. She is very knowledgeable and would only use her if we decide to have any more children. She is amazing!

Our family absolutely love Dr. Farra Swan. I met her in 1994 while expecting my second child. We Were not able to use her midwifery service for that child, but our care provider relationship started from there. She has been more than a midwife for myself and my family. In 1999 we were fortunate to have Dr. Swan deliver our third child. The care given pre, post and until today continues to be invaluble, outstanding medical provider on a number of levels for myself, children and husband. As for the value, my husband and I have found her to be very fair as well. I don't expect her or her staff to lack basic needs providing for me and my family. To this day if asked, and sometimes when not, I still recommend Dr. Swan as AZ best naturopathic .

A wonderful doctor who gives you the time and guidance you need throughout pregnancy. She is a wonderful pediatric doctor as well and my daughters have always loved visiting Dr. Swan, especially when they get one of the yummy nordic berries after checkup :-).

I am 25 years old and Farra delivered me and my younger brother when my mom was pregnant with us. She has been my doctor ever since and has been there supporting and looking out for me literally since I was in the womb. I could never imagine having anyone else deliver my own children as there is no one in this world that I trust more than Farra to take care of me and my child during my pregnancy. I don't plan on having kids for many years but when I do there is no doubt in my mind that Farra will deliver my babies at home just like she did me. If you want a Dr that truly LOVES you call Farra.... She's worth every penny!!
