I was a patient of Dr. Ansari for approximately 7 months. Just months prior to that I had all the excruciating tests done by the doctor that Ansari replaced and the diagnosis was peripheral neuropothy. On my first visit with Dr Ansari he performed these tests again. I questioned him on this and he told me he would only do a partial test. I went thru painful electric jolts once again and not only did he find the same results, but I later found that my insurance would not cover this expensive test. I did have Sanford remove that charge but I had to go thru the hassle. I saw Dr. Ansari twice after that, just to have him ask how I saw doing and my reply of no change. I found his nurse Sarah to be polite to a point. This is one of the last emails sent to her...
The lidocain patches were a joke. I had no clue he was going to prescribe a box of them. All I wanted was some temporary relief from the pain until the Lyrica took effect. I ended up paying $14 for one. I should have spent that on a restaurant meal.
At this point I am wondering why I pay an expensive neuro to treat me when my GP could do the same for less and not hear comments on how lucky I am (or some such bull) to have gotten in when his patients wait 3 months to see him. Maybe there is nothing more that can be done other than to live with the daily pain. I don't have that answer and it seems Dr A. doesn't either.
So, at this point do I let you know when I need refills on Lyrica or have that handled through a GP?

Approximately 1 year later I researched all the neuro's and found one that had a long tenure as a neuro and decided I would give him a try. He too was a Sanford physician in the same office as Dr. Ansari. I called the office, gave them my name and asked to make an appointment. I was told to expect a call back and later that day was told by the receptionist that Dr. Ansari is the "resident PN specialist" and that the doctor I asked to see did not do second opinions. This doc may know some things, but with 8 yrs experience I found him to just want to see you every 6 months to pad his pocket.

I was hospitalized for two days with at least 5 different Drs. on my case and none of them came up with any answers. One week later I was fortunate to get a last minute appointment with Dr. Ansari and he came up with the correct diagnosis immediately. Pretty strange because the Doctors who saw me in the hospital were colleagues in his office, and not one had any ideas about my condition. I love his sense of humor and personality. He was very thorough and made sure he followed through with test results that proved that his diagnosis was correct. My disease is not curable but with the proper medicine I can live with it. Thanks Dr. Ansari! You have my utmost respect. Your staff is as good as can be had.

He was exceptionally cordial. He had tests done immediately and called me in a few days with the results. He diagnosed CIDP right away and I started infusions in December of 2014. His diagnosis was exactly right and I have improved to about 60 %. I am continuing the infusions and he believes he can get me to 80 - 90%. My energy level is way up and I am walking 2 1/2 miles a day. He is absolutely amazing! He is so caring and so knowledgeable in his field. I highly recommend him for anyone who is having trouble walking! Thanks you Dr. Ansari and your staff!!

Dr. Ansari was very thorough in his examination and evaluation of my daughter. He listened and found the true diagnosis of her auto immune disease. Now she has hope that her normal life is back after 3 years without answers. Thank you, Dr. Ansari

I hope anyone reading these reviews will think twice about seeing this doctor. His care for patients is sub-par at best.

I was referred to Dr. Ansari about unexplained muscle weakness and ongoing fatigue. Dr. Ansari studied my file, listened, asked questions, did a thorough physical exam, and developed a thoughtful course of action. He instilled confidence and hope that he would do his all to get to the bottom of my symptoms. I highly recommend this talented and compassionate doctor.

I went to see Anasari because ive been having neurological symptoms and also my MRI showed chiari malfromation and some other things that my pcp doesn't understand. On my day of my apt i was in extereme pain i couldnt stop crying in the office when i finally got to see him i was so excited, i thought finally someone who can help me! but NO! he walked in and turned my world upside down. Right when he walked in he said what are you here for? i was stumped. Having my bro that suffered from neurofibromatosis i know how a neurologist should be and he was not a good neurologist. he never bothered looking at my MRI himself. He would ask me a question and shut me up right away.I kept trying to explain all my symptoms and also testing i have done but he would turn everything i say away. I got frustrated and he made me feel worse! i got up and walked out, he turned to me and said im telling them you walked out! and good luck hope you feel better!... on my way to my car i couldnt stop crying, i cried all day and i decided to get copy of my records and maybe go to Avera instead. I shouldnt be feeling this way at the age of 23. I wouldnt recommned this man to anyone that has something he doesnt specialize in cause he defiantly wont be any help. Cause this devil wants easy patients that he can fix easily. Last things he wants its a challange or something he doesnt know.I also went back cause the pain got really bad and the receptoonist was rude she said to be while i was sitting there crying he has many more patients to see you can schedule to see someone else. When the whole office was empty and i was the only person in the waiting room!

Dr. Ansari and his entire staff, they are so friendly and show a genuine concern for the patient.
He took the time to help me feel comfortable and talk to me about symptoms I had. I would highly recommend Dr. Ansari if you are seeking a Neurologist that is willing to go the extra mile. Dr. Ansari found the problem and recommend me to a surgeon who corrected the problem. Thanks Dr. Ansari

I was very disappointed with the lack of care and knowledge from Dr. Ansari. He was rude and treated my condition incorrectly. His lack of knowledge should really be monitored very closely by Sanford before treating other patients! He did not check in with me to see how the medicine he gave me was going, which gave me very bad side effects. He failed on every level to treat me. He was also very rude and arrogant to me and my family. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone. I have a different Neurologist now and I have been diagnosed correctly and I am being treated closely and respectfully. Thank God!!!
