Dr. K was great. So patient with my daughter who is usually very afraid of doctors. I can't say enough. He is clearly meant to be a kid doctor.

Biography

As the Lehigh Valley's first Board Certified Pediatric and Adolescent Dermatologist, I see patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly. I treat skin issues ranging from acne, eczema, warts, scarring, and psoriasis to basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. In addition to treating patients at St. Luke’s Dermatology, I also oversee the dermatology residency program at St. Luke’s. I work with highly-trained staff to offer intensive, comprehensive treatment plans for the best possible outcomes. In my practice, I work collaboratively with other specialists to give patients direct access to reconstruction/plastic surgery, specialized scar-imaging studies, physical/occupational therapy, and scar-specific trauma and abuse counseling depending on their situation. I attended the University of Pennsylvania for medical school and continued my residency in dermatology at the University of California, San Diego, and a residency in pediatrics at Johns Hopkins Medical Institute in Baltimore. I also completed a clinical fellowship in pediatric dermatology at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego. Prior to joining St. Luke’s, I served as the chief medical officer for DermOne, LLC, where I was responsible for the education, clinical quality, strategy, innovation, and cultural accomplishments in support of the company’s 30-plus practice locations and 300-plus employees. I consider myself a lifelong learner, driven by a passion for patient care, education, and scientific investigation. In my practice, I always try to remember that "a good dermatologist heals the skin; a great dermatologist heals the patient." Outside of the hospital, I serve as the wilderness first-aid expert for Boys Scouts of America and their official website, BoysLife.com. I’m a big Philadelphia Flyers fan, I play harmonica badly, and, above all else, I enjoy creating adventures with my horse veterinarian wife, two young sons, and our black Labrador.
