As a physician myself, I recognize that there are very few physicians of this extraordinary quality. I felt that he has a passion for what he does, and actually puts the extra effort in to make sure the patient gets the care and attention they should. His staff I have dealt with both in Philly and in NYC and they are lovely, often almost too quick to say “I’ll ask him and get back to you” Often times it is clear the staff has been given instructions to not bother the doctor for any reason unless absolutely necessary.
In my specific case, it was a second surgery. The first attempt at removing significant clots failed. He came highly recommended from well respected colleagues. Prior to the surgery I had received a medical opinion from a well respected surgeon that the failure rate would be very high. Dr. Winokur was confident, but not overly so. He had to be quite creative to to have a successful outcome for me, and as I understand it was a bit of work! I am beyond thrilled he had the determination.
I am 4 months out and it appears all is well.
I recommend him without reservation
