I am in U.A.E. My daughter is patient of dandy walker malformation. She got multiple surgeries. again she has uncontrolled severe headaches. I want to see the doctor for my daughter how can I book the appointment for her.

This man operated on my brain tumour and than I took an 8 hour intellectual functioning test and scored above the 75th percentile in my dumbest category. He also took care of my friends brain tumour and she became a pharmacist.

In 1995 Dr. Rutka performed spinal cord surgery for a herniated disc on my 13 year old daughter at sick kids. It was a 6 hour surgery. We were blessed to have him perform the surgery, and my daughter and us haven't forgotten how he saved her life.

I was at Sick Kids since I was 12 to my 18th birthday and I cannot express how grateful I was to have Dr Rutka. Hands down one of the best doctors out there and a amazing human being, I always felt calm whenever I met with him and was never nervous. Thank you Dr Rutka for everything

Back in July 2016, Dr. James Rutka performed an Urgent Craniotomy on my 15 year old son at Toronto Sick Kids Hospital to remove 3 brain blood clots.. Due to the urgency of the matter, we didn’t get the opportunity to meet him in person until after the Surgery. He was such a calm and caring doctor who just knew how to make you feel at ease and reassured. He made sure that we wrote down our list of questions and concerns before each visit so that he could address them for us. We spent the next few years following up with MRI’s with Dr. Rutka until my son turned 18. At each visit, Dr. Rutka took the time to listen which many doctors fail to do these days. He never rushed, but rather sat at the edge of my son’s bed like any caring parent or doctor would do and talked to my son.
I highly recommend Dr. Rutka’s professionalism, compassion and dedication to his patients and their families.

When I was 15 I was thrown off two horses in one week which caused me to develop tether cord and after he performed tethered cord surgery on me I was healed in five days, and when I was 17 my 13th shunt broke in three places and he was right on it when I got to the hospital, I ended up having seven more shunt revisions in the next five months and the 19th did get infected but when it got infected and he was notified he cut his vacation to two different places short and flew back to the hospital to save my life.

He saved my life when I was 13! Amazing surgeon and so caring and compassionate. So lucky to have him preform surgery on me. Can’t say enough good things about him, and would let him operate on my brain any day.
