Biography
Andrew S. Neviaser, M.D. is the Director of Shoulder and Upper Extremity Surgery at George Washington University Hospital. Dr. Neviaser’s interests include rotator cuff tears, total shoulder replacement, shoulder instability and dislocations, fractures, and sports-related shoulder and elbow injuries. Dr. Neviaser is a graduate of Amherst College and received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed his residency at the prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City and did advanced training in shoulder and elbow surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center under Dr. Evan Flatow, former president of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. Dr. Neviaser has authored numerous scientific articles and textbook chapters. He is actively involved in research of the rotator cuff, arthroscopic treatment of biceps tendon disease, durability of shoulder replacements, and minimally invasive treatment of proximal humerus fractures.
