Compassion. A true, deep, real ability to see your problem and have the talent and skills to be able to help you… that is why you should go to Dr. Daniel Lee. There are a lot of skilled orthopedic surgeons in this valley (and I’ve been to several) but this man will truly understand your pain, see the problem, and tell you how he can honestly help you. My back nerves were so pinched off that I was losing my ability to walk, and now (1 ½ years after surgery), I’m walking 3 miles a day. Seriously, this is the doctor to go to. No one else.

I am an 81 year old grateful patient of Doc Lee..he is an amazing and totally competent surgeon who performed a "Full Monty" - lumbar fusion L4-L5 together with a cyst removal at Sunrise Hospital on Nov 28th 2018..he and his staff, especially Kathleen, were a pleasure to work with.. they explained every detail of the procedure and what to expect in the recovery process.
I was up walking (unassisted) the day after my surgery and released from the hospital the following day..I am receiving home therapy twice a week and yesterday 12-20-18 visited Dr Lee's office for my first review..there have been no adverse after effects from the procedure and besides walking two miles per day i am 95 percent pain free with zero of the prior back pains, together with leg and foot pain..i fully realize there is a ways to go for the complete bonding of my spine and what was installed in my back ? can it support my physically active life style ? My family and i convey our thanks to Dr Lee for his Christmas gift too us..Patrick Welsh.

I was having sciatic nerve pain in my left leg so I called Desert Orthopaedic in Las Vegas and described my problem. They said "Oh, you want Dr. Daniel Lee." Of course everyone else wanted him, too and he had to postpone my surgery (as described below) twice to take care of emergency patients.

To summarize what was done, Dr. Lee re-gapped three vertebrae (L4, L5, and S1), inserted titanium bars vertically on both sides, secured the aforementioned vertebrae to the bars with six titanium screws, built cages between the gaps on both sides, and then filled the cages with bone material scraped from other vertebrae, the objective being to cause those three vertebrae to fuse during the healing process. It took about 3 hours for him to do that. He's done so many of these procedures that they're a "walk-in-the-park" for him.

Suffice it to say that the results were spectacular. Before the surgery my left leg was in constant pain of varying intensities. Waking up on the way to recovery I noted that left leg nerve pain was as gone as Tommy DeVito (Joe Pesci) in “Goodfellas” after he thought that whacking a made man wouldn’t hinder him from becoming a made man, himself. They had me up and walking later that afternoon.

At this point, recovery is progressing very well. The sciatic nerve pain is completely gone and walking is not a problem, thanks to Dr. Lee!

I was in great pain down the leg from a cyst on the L-5. Dr Lee virtually gave me back the full function of the leg and took away the numbness in the foot. He has a talent for good patient-doctor relationships, explains in detail what the problem is, and best of all, stalks down the corridor of the clinic with a resin spinal column flung over his shoulder not unlike the predator. Way cool!

I am a current patient of Dr. Lee and I couldnt be happier with my care. I have been a bartender for over 20 yrs and i began having lower back pain about 3 yrs ago. Two of my co-workers referred me to him with rave reviews having just recovered from similar surgeries. After my first visit, i knew he was the right dr for me as he was kind, professional, concise, and obviously VERY knowledgable. He told me i would know when i was ready for surgery and it was totally my decision and within a few months i decided it was time. The plan was to perform a lower lumbar fusion of the L4/L5 on June 5th. The morning of the surgery as i was being prepped, Dr Lee checked in on me and informed me that after hours of reviewing my files and scans the night prior, there was a chance that he would need to fuse the S1 as well. He has the reputation of being the best spinal surgeon in NV so i didnt think twice and put my total trust and faith in his ability to fix me and hopefully relieve my pain. The recovery was no picnic but within a few days i started to notice improvements and the surgery was a complete success. Back surgery is not always effective or successful but i feel that having Dr Lee was a huge advantage and i would recommend him to anyone with chronic pain looking for a solution. It is now September and I am virtually pain free!! Today was the first time in 3 yrs that i did not feel pain in my back and i am ecstatic! I owe it all to Dr Lee....thank you, thank you, thank you!! Job well done😀

I met Dr. Lee in 2017. I had already had 3 other back surgeries. From my last surgeryI had in 2015, I was left with more chronic lower back pain and severe right foot drop. When I went into meet with Dr. Lee, he was very straight with me about what he thought he could do for me and my back because it was getting worse every day. Dr. Lee told me and I totally understood the process of his thoughts he could help me relieve my right foot drop and could fuse my L-3, L-4, L-5 to strengthen my lower back with the fusion. We also both understood that a 4th surgery like all of my othe surgeries where not going to make me 100 percent again. I understood that if we gained 15 to 20% less pain, this would be considered a success. Thankfully we did the surgery on 1-31-18. When I came out of surgery, immediately I was rewarded with no more foot drop. That in itself was a great challenge and added pain I was suffering with for almost 3 years. My back pain has been reduced and I have been able to get off the higher doses of pain meds. I can say that having Dr. Lee do the surgery on my back was the best thing I have done. I would recommend Dr. Lee to anyone who seeks relief and struggles with chronic back pain. He has great bedside manner and just seems like a really good person. Thank you Dr. Lee

In 1973 my back was broken while competing in a high school wrestling tournament. At the time of my injury the surgeons suggested delaying surgery and participating in lots of physical rehabilitation. For the last several years I have been in constant pain and could not straighten out my back. Dr. Lee reviewed my case and recommended surgery. He described the surgery in detail and left me feeling confident in the procedure. The surgery was a total success and I now (9 months after surgery) feel better than I have in over 30 years! Also, Dr. Lee and his staff have been great post-surgery and during the entire healing process. I recommend anyone with spine issues schedule an appt and listen to Dr. Lee's opinion.

Dr. Lee expalined exactly what the procedure envolved. Also, the pluses and the minuses. Everything he told me happened exactly as he stted. His choice of Valley Hospitalwas unbelievely great. I have had very good care in Sacramento Sutter Group, but this was much more. Ifeel like a VIPwhen dealing with Dr. Lee and his staff and hopsital. The best I have seen. Warren R Wolfe

Had to have back surgery - extremely pleased with my results. He was very clear to explain to me in layman terms exactly what was wrong with my back. I had the fusion done and as stated earlier I am very happy with my results.
