The absolute worst doctor you could dread. No manners, no education, non informative. I'm 109% she's skimmed by the skin of her tooth, rudest person I've ever met.

I had Dr Zan when she was at Dartmouth and Catholic Medical Center. She saved my life. I fight a very rare disease and there are not many drugs out there to use. Most of those drugs I am not able to take. She kept me going on prednisone for a couple of years until a trial drug was approved. I am one of those that have normal inflammation markers even when I have a strong flair up of disease. She also did not let "normal" blood work determine treatment but rather considered all signs and symptoms. When she left Dartmouth after finishing her fellowship, she went to Catholic Medical Center. The next Fellow to take over my care, refused to treat me, even with predinsone because he let the "normal" blood work results rule is decision making process. That dr would only think in the box. Dr Zan's accent was thick at the time. I found her willing to not only try to enunciate better when I let her know I couldn't understand her, but take help from me to enunciate better. She was friendly, gave me all the time I needed, thorough and made sure I understood why she was treating me the way she did. Through her care I went from unable to work or function normally to nearly doing all I used to do. The staff at both hospitals she worked at in NH were sorry to see her go.

Dr. Zan's accent is extremely hard to understand. She does not have a comforting bedside manner and comes across rude. I went three times with complaints of worsening of my condition and she did nothing but make everything worse. Because my labs didn't indicate a problem, she didn't see the need to do anything. While she is punctual, she is defensive and argumentative at the slightest worry that you may be skeptical of her treatment of you. I have had Lupus for 15 years and because I've moved (due to my spouse being in the military) I have seen 5 other rheumatologist and countless other specialist, and she is the worse doctor I've ever seen!
