She should lose her licenses. She is ignorant and doesn’t know what she’s doing. She destroys parental relationships with children! Don’t go near her

Horrible! The staff and the doctor are mainly concerned with getting your credit card on file. Rude and not helpful.

I have been going to Dr. Mara for over a decade and that, in itself, speaks volumes.
Staff - There has been a turnover in staff over the years (only one girl in the office) but each one is courteous, whether on the phone or in person.
Punctuality - More often than not I wait at least 10 minutes past my scheduled time, however, in all fairness, I am not leaving the room until 10 minutes past my allotted time. Many people just need a few extra minutes and Dr. Mara is generous enough to give it to them/me.
Helpfulness - I believe she has done what she needed to do to get me in a place that I can be my best. She retains good notes and reflects on them through each session, as needed, to discuss pertinent information regarding my present needs.
Knowledge - Dr. Mara has a vast knowledge in her field and stays up on the new books and publications. She doesn't spend time diagnosing. Her time is spent getting to know what you are thinking and why; then finding the methods for you to walk out that door feeling better than when you walked in. It may take more than one session for that to happen but you have to be willing to work on yourself to get better.
I have stayed with her through the ups and downs in my life and appreciate that she is there when I need a visit.

Dr. Mara was asked to work as a PC. Never once was the other parent held accountable for violations of time sharing and contact. Very biased towards dads

Although it is sometimes hard to get an appointment right away, Dr. Mara is always worth the wait. She helps my family navigate through difficult times and is always fair. Her advice is straight-up and she likes to give homework and things we can do on our own to help us grow.

Dr Barbara Mara is a friendly helpful therapist. She always takes the time to listen to what I have to say and never tries to belittle me. She is very smart and knows the best way to convey the intelligence on a professional manner. It takes a special individual to spend everyday listening to others problems. At one point she seemed like she knew better than me but that's because she did and that's why I seek her consulting because I need the therapy and chances are she does know better than me. A therapist with her kind of experience is rare and I look forward to more sessions and my recovery.

Horrible. She jumps to conclusions because "she knows so much" or "has a crystal ball in her head", and constantly interrupts you because she knows "what you're going to say". She is cold and clinical and there is nothing more clear and obvious from her staff that you will pay money, money, money... put a retainer up, no, this isn't covered by your retainer, we need credit card numbers now. I've never been treated so superficially by staff.

I don't really understand that bad reviews, unless those people were told the truth in their evaluations!! Dr. Mara did an evaluation on my family and it was very thorough. A little longer than expected, but I rather it be longer and accurate then short and incomplete! Thank you for everything Dr. Mara.
