I recently did a custody evaluation with Dr. Mara. It was a long and arduous, lots of testing and sessions. But the process made me feel like she was intent on finding as much information as possible. Booking appoints can be difficult, she books up quick, but Dr. Mara definitely kept our schedule in mind. I have no complaints in all honesty, I have no comparison and it seems like my final report was very thorough. I'm not sure why there are so many terrible ratings. Dr. Mara seemed very knowledgeable and no more or less helpful than other therapists my children have seen. Overall a timely, pricey experience.

I am a professional who sees patients. Dr Mara is very knowledgable and very kind and very very helpful. She is allways there if ever needed at any time. Dr Mara has made my coping skills for ADHD much better! I highly recommend her, she's a great MD!

Dr. Mara is the best psychologist because she is well informed through research. Her staff is very attentive and warm. I would recommend Dr. Mara to anyone who is on need of help.

Run the other way. Our family used Dr. Mara for a custody evaluation and she was completely out of touch. Her staff turnover rate is excessive and the office atmosphere is oppressive. My child's other parent is a narcissist and only wanted to take our child away from me completely in order to punish me. Dr. Mara was given so many examples of this and as a trained professional was unable to see what was going on. At one point in the report she claimed that I committed an act that was actually one that my ex did- she couldn't even tell who was who. If you get court ordered to go to her, you'd better make sure that you are the one who pays for it.

Dr. Mara recently conducted on evaluation on my family, she was objective and actually negotiated on price with me. Within reason of course, I went to other places and was quoted the same costs, with even some extra fees. The evaluation was very long, but she had what needed to be done in a timely manner. Her staff were all very helpful and she was always on time. The only tough part was contacting her not during a session, which is why I lowered the helpfulness rating. Overall I was very satisfied with my evaluation and general therapy since then.

Dr Mara recently evaluated me for court. I found her way of doing it to be realistic, fair and objective. As a father I got equal time with my children.

DOCTOR MARA IS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST I HAVE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE OF RECEIVING TREATMENT FROM. THIS THERAPIST SEEMED PREOCCUPIED WITH HER OWN PERSONAL FINANCIAL PROBLEMS. SHE SCHEDULES FAR TOO MANY UNNECESSARY APPOINTMENTS AND APPEARS PREOCCUPIED WITH PREDICTING THAT TREATMENT WILL POTENTIALLY INVOLVE SEVERAL YEARS OF BI-WEEKLY SESSIONS. THIS PSYCHOLOGIST SEEMS TO BE MOTIVATED BY HOW MUCH MONEY SHE CAN MAKE FROM YOUR CASE. HER EMPHASIS ON BEING PAID WAS OBVIOUS. DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS THERAPIST.

dr mara never researched my case when doing a forensic eval... my psyciatrist asked who she did this eval on because it obvios it wasnt me.. I asked mara how she came up with the eval and she said thats what the computer came up with when we lugged your answers in.. no such program exists
