The previous poster took the words right out of my mouth!!! I would add that she also enjoys diagnosing children with ear infections AND pneumonia, yet she doesn't ever run labs. To my knowledge, pneumonia can either be viral or bacterial...but she doesn't seem to know. She simply orders amoxicillin. -At one point, the base pharmacy was actually out of amoxicillin and I told them it wasn't surprising, since it's her drug of choice. She rarely ever checks her charts, either. Instead, she tries to go by memory, and often confuses patients. If you are about to relocate to Sheppard and Tricare is your only insurance, look into off base housing! Otherwise, you're forced into selecting either Cardona or one other doctor on base. Seriously the WORST dr out there!!! If she is your dr I'd advise you change! She has misdiagnosed my child as well as many other children including infants with pneumonia. Her common phrase... "I don't really see/hear anything, just keep doing what you're doing with home meds, ok have a good day." And second favorite, " here's some amoxicillin that should help" no matter what is the issue. She is a joke! She needs her license revoked. She's seen children and did nothing for them, then the child ended up in the er the next day. Of course as usual, er says to follow up with your primary, and of course cardona doesn't remember anything. What a waste of a room for a better dr. CHANGE DRS!! Sheppard needs to get rid of her.
