I worked for this provider for 10 years as his nurse practitioner. I thought that he was a great provider. I needed help with my diagnosis of PPMS. I needed a gatekeeper. I had to have paperwork completed for my long term disability to continue with it. The long term disability was my source of income. I had to have paperwork for my case for social security disability income also. I did not ask for PPMS and the complications. The provider stated “ All I am is someone to complete disability paperwork. How do I know that you really have the symptoms. Your symptoms are subjective. You say that you are short of breath. How do I know that you have fallen.” These are a few of his statements. I had documentation of my spirometry results decreasing. I had documentation of my speech issues. I gave it to his medical assistant. She was supposed to copied it to my chart. I had approximately 10 pages of results of the voice results per a speech pathologist. She returned it to me in minutes. I am unsure if the provider reviewed it or not. He had results of the evoked potentials showing a disconnect of my brain to the left leg. No we did not have any patients with multiple sclerosis while I was employed with him for 10 years, but I do wonder if this was a higher clientele, family or friend if he would researched multiple sclerosis. He discharged me for a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. I have the discharge letter to prove it. I was not a drug seeker, did not miss appointments or rude to his staff. I was very hurt by his accusations of faking my symptoms of PPMS. I understand about completing paperwork for disability, but it was my job. He did not have any suggestions for a provider either. Thank God that the speech pathologist knew of someone to take over my care of a gatekeeper. So if you have a common diagnosis, he can handle that, but if you do not, do not consider him.
