My husband is a senior citizen as am I and this office discourages a second person being in the exam room with the patient even though that's what the patient wants or needs. You have to request permission from the clinical staff. Because my husband doesn't retain verbal instructions very well and I was not in the exam room he apparently has been taking the wrong medication for months. If you have to ask permission for a second person of the patients choice to be in the exam room then change doctors!!

Once he operates on patient you are on your own not the doctor or his staff ever Call to see if you are still alive the staff that not fully trained is running the show in his office . Week after operation a 23 years old nurse instead of the doctor yank the catheter out so badly that my bladder decided to Stop letting urine exist when I called next day at 9:00 am to tell them I had lots
of pain they leave message at 5:00 pm that I need to drink more water while I ended in ER to install another catheter since my bladder was full . Even with all that problems doctor Bigelow never responded . This doctor has no communication skill or may be he thinks his practice is just making money machine .

Don't expect any calls back from this office at Ironwood Urology in Awatukee AZ. They are terrible. If you have any issues or concerns the office manager here will not call you back. That should tell you what kind of an operation they are running here.

I had numerous bad experiences with this doctor. Multiple times on my office visit he only talked to me for 90 seconds or less and then ran out the door. How can he have any idea what is going on with you if he doesn't hold a conversation with you. This makes you feel like he doesn't really care about you and also disrespected. I also mentioned that I had gotten a second opinion on my situation and he had no interest in what I found out. Again, appears he just doesn't care. I ended up going to another doctor to get help. My new doctor was much more helpful. Save yourself the aggravation and pick your doctors wisely.

I had a very bad experience with this doctor . He performed operation on me that turned out badly. He was called from recovery room twice about problems and did nothing. I just reviewed his site and it shows no skill level for operation he performed ; But in speaking with me pre-op ;he gave impression of lots of experience doing it.

I wish I had come to this site first, initial visit was Ok, he ordered up a CT Scan to see if there were any issues relating to my UTI treated by my GP, I waited 2 days without a call to set it up, I was told by staff it could be days or a week to get approval, I called a week from the first visit, plus I told her I was having a lot of pain, no answer on the CT Scan schedule and was told I needed to get a urine sample, I went to a lab that was closer to home, no call from the staff on the sample. In the mean time I had a followup visit with my GP, because of the pain he ordered the CT Scan and had another sample taken, almost two weeks after Bigelow ordered the scan I find out I have an Enlarged Prostate, the explanation on his results of my Urine was no infection, but they did not contact me to find out if I was still in distress. Between his inept staff and his lack of compassion I suffered for 2 weeks before the correct prognosis was made. Thank god for my GP, he ordered the CT Scan and made it available to Bigelow, his staff is dis organized and under trained or not qualified to serve the public. I'm now looking for a new specialist. We consumers deserve better treatment.

Waited until 1:25 for a 12:15 appointment. No apologies and not the first time Dr. Bigelow was running absurdly late. When told that a P.A doubled the dosage of a prescribed medication, he only nodded and said he wasn't surprised. Handed out a sample medicine to take in addition and said come see him in a month to see if it helped. Total time spent with patient = @ 4 minutes.

I moved to Maricopa Co. and needed a new urologist. His office (not Bigelow himself) was recommended to me. I brought reports from my previous urologist and gave them to him. Dr. Bigelow did not seem interested in me as a person, only as a prostate problem. He did not explain the problem nor explain what was needed to be done. He talked a lot about himself and how much his equipment costs. I saw immediately that this would not be a good fit and found a new urologist. I contacted Dr. Bigelow's office, filled out and returned the appropriate papers to have his findings sent to the new urologist. Nothing was sent to the new urologist, neither his report nor any of my past reports. Two requests were made all to no avail.

I would definitely NOT recommend him because of his apparent lack of concern for the patient and because of his irresponsible and unprofessional behavior regarding the forwarding of my records.

I engaged Dr Bigelow for a TURP surgery after his Rx recommendations failed to halt nocturne (many bathroom trips at night) in nearly one year of Rx regimen. The surgical recovery was painful and not entirely unexpected. I apparent fell into the 5% of his patients who receive no relief from nocturnia symptoms. His attitude was haughty, brusque and he was efficient at minimizing his patient contact time. I hired this MD based on the"in network" requirements of my insurer. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this man as I received absolutely no relief inspire of his pronouncements for success.
