Dr. Szczepanek is absolutely incredible. He goes out of his way to make sure that you are involved in your plan of care and ensures that you are taken care of. If you have an urgent issue or problem he will push things around to get you right in....mind you this is not an urgent care clinic. Top notch!

The knowledge and care that Dr. Andy possesses is unmatched by any pain specialist in Iowa, better yet, anywhere in the mid-west! He is up-front, honest and strictly dedicated to finding out what is wrong with us. Pain management without Dr, S would not exist for me.

Dr. S is great. I wouldn't go anywhere else. He's very knowledgeable, takes the time to listen and genuinely cares. Sabina is also fantastic.

I am a patient of his now at Central States Medicine and he is the best of the best. He sincerely cares about his patients pain and helping improve quality of life. I've had 2 steroid injections with him and will have more.

I agree with the user below. I am a current patient at Central States Medicine where Dr. Szczepanek is working and he is definitely a victim of circumstance. He is so extremely kind, diligent, very thorough when it comes go figuring out how to treat your pain. There are no guessing games for him. He is very intelligent but graciously humble at the same time. Anyone would be insanely lucky to have him as a doctor! I'm glad I found him when I did. Thanks Dr.S!!

Dr. Szczepanek was a victim of circumstances, having the misfortune of being partnered with Dr.Daniel Baldi at the IHS Pain Clinic. I would have to agree with the other reviewers that the IHS Pain Clinic was mismanaged and run poorly for several years. The staff were unprofessional, rude, incompetent, ignored patient's phone calls & requests for assistance. It was so stressful to have to deal with the staff because they had a total disregard for the patients. Not to mistake them for the NEW staff at the office they had just prior to shutting down. Things improved dramatically there. As for Dr.Szczepanek he is a warm, compassionate physician who was very thorough and knowledgeable. He diligently sought alternative treatments and testing to help me deal with my chronic pain and to improve my quality of life. I would highly recommend him and I would be thrilled to have the opportunity to be his patient again. I pray that he's doing well after the severe injustice that was cast upon him.

Pain medicine is a highly specialized field with alot of risk. I feel sorry for these doctors because they take risks to help us with chronic pain from cancer, arthritis, to MVA. Without this doctor, I wouldn't know how to treat my injuries and he was the only one who would help me. I didn't have a problem with Dr. Szczepanek, but I did have problems with the clinic staff not being able to do their jobs correctly. My responsibility as a pain patient, to take medication as prescribed and I phoned in my symptoms when they got worse as per my pain contract. This doctor did not overprescribe medication to me, but offered many non-medicated options. He treated me so I could be able to live life to a better quality degree.
