I have been extremely fortunate to have Dr. Jean Pierre Hubschman as my retinal and vitreous specialist for the past 15 years. I have had multiple surgeries and procedures that have been successful because of Dr. Hubschman’s skill, knowledge, experience, and expertise. He is the reason I have sight. His competence, professionalism, and humanity are unparalleled. He is compassionate, caring, and respectful. He is patient and communicates clearly. He stays current with research and contributes to the advancement of technology in his field. He is held in high regard by his patients, staff, and colleagues. My family and I are forever grateful to Dr. Hubschman and his UCLA Family.

Dr. Hubschman operated on my left eye for a detatched retina. I had surgery 3 weeks prior on the same eye with another surgeon. Unfortunately, the first surgery was not successful and when I came to Dr. Hubschman I was very concerned and worried. Dr. Hubschman put me at ease and gave me confidence that he could repair my eye. Dr. Hubschman was very caring and very specific about my part in my recovery. It was a tough recovery and today I got the news that I am well on my way to a total recovery. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Hubschman. It is due to his expertise and professionalism and that I am having a good outcome and I will not loose the sight in my eye. Thank you Dr. Hubschman!

Dr. Hubschman was recommended by my regular optometrist because of his reputation and expertise in dealing with vitreous related issues. My condition was "extremely" bad floaters in both eyes. From the first visit with Dr. Hubschman I had total confidence, no fear even though there was apperently a percentage of risk. Felt happy and confident right thru to the end of both of the procedures. Aside from excellent work you are left with a great feeling knowing it was a completely successful job and I actually see better now than I have throughout my entire life. I would give more stars if possible.

My Glaucoma doctor at Jules Stein, UCLA referred me to Dr. Hubschman on Nov 1, 2019 after detecting a detached retina. This was after 5 pm on a Friday. Dr. Hubschman also practices at Jules Stein, UCLA. He and his team sprung into action to examine and diagnose the issue and concluded that emergency surgery later that evening or next day Saturday to prevent further damage. Due to OR availability surgery was done on Saturday, November 2, 2019 early afternoon. I had scheduled and unscheduled post op exams on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday to adjust medications for controlling glaucoma related pressure buildup. Dr. Hubschman and team were attentive, gave quality care, made themselves available and did everything that was necessary for a good outcome. I feel fortunate that the referral was to Dr. Hubschman and could not ask for a better team to manage my care. Dr. Hubschman has one of the best reputations in the industry and I believe it is well deserved. His abilities seem evident from the first meeting through the post-op care. My results have been spectacular. I am so glad to have trusted the care of my vision to Dr. Hubschman!

On August 2018, due to my diabetes, my vision deteriorated rapidly. I visited an ophthalmologist and he told me that my eye condition was very serious and that I had to see a specialist. I did not know where to go. I did some research on the UCLA website, and after carefully reviewing some of the doctors and after much consideration I selected Dr Jean-Pierre Hubschman. I could feel that he was the right doctor for me and that he was going to be the one to help me. I was not mistaken. The doctor's office gave me an appointment immediately and I was treated urgently. After a year of laser treatments, injections and surgeries, the health of my eyes is now in good condition. I have significantly recovered my vision. Thank you, Dr Hubschman, not only for your professionalism, your high level of medical knowledge and your diligence during the entire time of my treatment but also for your great human value. During my appointments it was pleasant to see in the waiting room many patients with the same conviction as mine, knowing that we were in good hands. I could not be more happy with my eye care by Dr. Hubschman. The great skill of himself and his staff are matched by his concern and care for me as a patient. As part of my problem I needed the attention of a cornea specialist that henensured that I received. I cannot ask for more of both his skill and dedication to his patients and am greatly relieved to have him caring for my eyes.

Dr. Hubschman is a very skilled surgeon.
Two months ago Dr. Hubschman performed surgery to repair a macular hole in my right eye. The macular hole caused distorted vision (which was scary). Surgery went very well with no complications. Thank you doctor ;-)

Dr. Hubschman is amazing!
He operated on a family member with a macular hope. Results are amazing. He is the best in the field. I highly recommend him for any retinal disease and that is coming from a person who is with extensive experience in the medical field.
Amazing bedside manners and person to person interactions.
He is the one to go to. No other comparable.
