I found him dismissive of my concerns & unwilling to consider my perspective. He repeatedly told me there was "no evidence" that I have the cognitive problems I reported as if the times I've written the wrong word in emails, school papers, etc. aren't "evidence" or the fact that I can't even watch movies anymore b/c I'm unable to remember which character is which and what has happened so far.He told me that my nonstop headaches "weren't concerning" to me.I told him that yes they were, & he repeated himself saying I wasn't concerned about them. The best part was when he told me I should have a "glass half full" attitude about my situation b/c at least it wasn't a brain tumor, MS, etc. He insisted I was just anxious & depressed and tried shoving SSRIs at me. I told him I didn't want to be on an SSRI & asked to try something to help w/ my concentration instead. He said he would give me something for it & then wrote me a prescription for an SSRI anyway. Like trying to communicate w/ a wall.

Dr Schere is very hands on and proactive. He saw my husband after he had a stroke(my husband was 68 yrs. old and in excellent health). Dr. Schere was willing to think outside the box and consult w/ Emory stroke clinic to help my husband. The doctor is readily available to patients even texting them if necessary. We feel very confident in Dr. Schere. He seems to put the patient first and leaves his ego at the door.

while he seemed interested in aquiring certain types of information and spent alot of time trying to get that information (including calling home and speaking with my family. a plus), he seems to have a very narrow scope of interest. he isn't interested in symptoms outside of his interest which i believe can inhibit his ability to accurately diagnose and treat me. i wet to him because of complex symptoms, and i didn't know which were related to my condition and which were something else. he didn't want to know about those symptoms. he also doesn't acknowledge certain effects medications may have on moods and personality.
