Supremely gifted surgeon practicing minimally invasive procedures. Thoughtful, comprehensive review of images and prior surgeries; successful procedure and follow ups. Highly competent staff. Appointments (not surgery!) required extensive wait but it’s worth it.

I searched widely and went to Shah for a mini-TKA. I did better faster than all my relatives and friends who went to HSS. It was such a great outcome. The hospital is not flashy but I was only there for a total of 8 hours.

Highly skilled at his work. I had two anterior hip replacements and 1 minimally invasive knee replacement with Dr. Shah. Way way better experience and outcome than my other knee done at HSS.

Dr. Shah did my left knee replacement in 2019 and right knee replacement in 2020. I highly recommend him for this surgery. It went very well and healing has gone smoothly.

Dr Shah and his entire team are amazing. This includes everyone at CUMC. I had my second hip replacement with Him. The experience was a million times better than the experience I had with my first surgeon and he even fixed issues that my first surgeon left me with. I was able to go home the same day from the hospital and am healing remarkably well. It has only been three weeks. Last time, I was barely walking around with a walker at this point. Now, I’m about to start driving. It’s incredible! Dr Shah and his team truly care about his patients. I had surgery during the height of Corona virus and felt totally safe. Columbia handled everything from preop to postop with ease. Thank you so much. This entire experience has been life changing for me.

Dr. Shah did a "revision" on my left knee. I had had a knee replacement that wouldn't heal. Though he was at first reluctant to operate, he then saw something he could improve. And that he did. Now at 7 weeks I'm in better shape than I was at 7 months with the other. He is exceedingly skillful, but beyond that, he listens and cares. His entire staff is wonderful and involved in each patient's progress. I was given their business cellphones, and was able to contact the office, a nurse, etc. A knee replacement is tough going, but when you know the doctor and his staff care and will help, it makes everything easier.
Now and again you have one of those doctors that is one of the best, and Dr. Shah is one of them.

Dr. Shah came highly recommended and he is the best doctor I've ever had, in terms of both his technical skills and his bed side manner. Also, his office was the easiest to work with and most organized that I've experienced. He was able to totally replace both of my knees within a 5 week period in the midst of the Corona Virus crisis, and the results have been amazing despite my case being a complex one. This is life changing for me in so many ways, my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.

Dr Shah replaced my left hip on June 11, and it was an incredibly good experience. I had no post-op pain until October, and that was minor pain behind my knee and some discomfort in my upper thigh/groin. But nothing like the pain I was enduring for the year before the operation.
I am hoping that Dr Shah will be able to replace my right hip when the time comes in the next few years.

I had a very successful hip replacement by Dr. Shah in July. I was a day patient and was able to easily maneuver stairs and walking a few hours after having surgery and to be perfectly honest, did not go through pain after surgery. I took the medications as prescribed and after 2 days did not take the pain medications as they were not needed. I felt like a new person. Dr. Shah and his team are excellent, very skilled and very caring. Dr. Shah had done my partial knee replacement last August which was very successful so I had the confidence in his excellent judgement and skill that I went into this surgery for my hip with great optimism and calmness. Dr. Shah is a great surgeon and I recommend him to anyone who asks me about my surgeries and they do because they see the difference and are amazed at the quickness of my recovery and great outcomes to both surgeries. Dr. Shah and his team have been and are terrific!
