Scheduled a thyroid consult with this physician. During my appointment when I asked various questions - she kept saying she needed to "look it up." I have been going to endocrinologists for years and could tell just by the labs she ordered that she didn't know what she was doing. I also let her know I was diagnosed with a thyroid cyst a few years back , and the ultrasound to check on the cyst was never ordered. I called the office several times about the cyst, but they never called me back.

Dr Jyoti Rao and the rest of her staff are very helpful from the time you walk in the door until the time you leave. I have been very impressed with her and her staff. I was seeing her about my diabetes, however I was also seeing a different doctor about a moderate too much pain that I was having in my foot. The doctor that was treating me for the pain in my foot could not get to the bottom of what was happening however, Dr Rao recommended that I see a podiatrist. I followed her recommendation and this may have saved my foot. I am very thankful for having Dr. Rao as one of my doctors.

I have PCOS and started to go to her after I turned 18 and was released from my pediatric endocrinologist. All she asks me about is my diet. I'm a college student; how do I explain what random stuff they cook in the cafeteria. I've tried so much to lose weight for years, and she doesn't believe me when I tell her I have been working on my eating habits and working out. She just keeps repeating that I need to lose weight. I understand this, but I have also tried everything. I've been about three times and it's been the same conversation every time. I'm changing doctors.

Dr. Rao is new in Charlotte and at this practice. She is timid and does not really remember what she says from her conversations. She is not confident in her treatment and only treats by the numbers, rather than the symptoms. This is deadly when it comes to thyroid, hypothyroidism and Hashimoto's. She just does not seem to know what she is doing.
