My biggest warning to any would-be patient: stay the hell away from this quack. Shortly after cervical spine surgery, my husband was suddenly afflicted with serious neurological symptoms that escalated into life-threatening emergencies. Having been in the medical profession treating others for three decades, my husband is not one to seek medical help. But this was so bad, he had to be transported via ambulance per doctor's orders on more than one occasion. Symptoms included loss of ability to understand language, inability to speak, hypersensitivity to sound interspersed with deafness, loss of use of limbs, inability to feel the left side of his body, hypertensive crisis, seizures, intense head pressure, and ultimately loss of consciousness and coma. My husband was in the hospital for days, with his stroke-like episodes getting worse.
The Doctor did order a Lumbar Puncture, but failed to test for CSF pressure. What we did notice is as soon as the LP was performed, my husband said it felt like an apple sized bubble in his brain deflated, and he immediately felt relief from all his symptoms and regained his mental falculties. It was the first time my husband returned. I told the Doctor this finding, but as usual, she didn't listen and said it was mere coincidence. I told her it seemed like the release of pressure improved his condition, and she said I could not say that, as she didn't have his CSF pressure tested. Hello, maybe that's a clue, doctor, that you should have tested it or should test it. After the Lumbar Puncture, his symptoms continued to build and get worse again. There seemed to be a connection between pressure on his brain and his condition (a rare but known complication of spine surgery).
Instead of doing her job (she gets paid handsomely for) and trying to get to the bottom of it, she just said it must be psychological in nature, even though my husband has no history of psychological conditions, and no family history of it either (funny enough, I've read other reviews here that this Doctor did the same to them!). Psych came in and assessed and said there was something occuring neurologically creating the symptoms. Regardless of psych punting the issue back into neurology's court, this doctor negligently wanted no part of it and discharged my husband, against our better judgement, with no diagnosis and no treatment plan, while he was still suffering from these stroke-like episodes. We were in absolute disbelief! She literally was knowingly making a decision that could very possibly kill him. I didn't even know doctors were allowed to do this. Isn't it against the Hippocratic Oath? Cause no harm?
As anyone could have predicted (with no treatment or cure), my husband got worse, and the next day had another stroke-like episode, went fully unconscious, and had to be transported by ambulance back to the ER (this is getting expensive--thanks, Doc). The Fire Department thought he was having a stroke, was coding, and wasn't going to make it. He was unresponsive in a coma for hours. It's been an absolute nightmare, watching my husband nearly die again and again, and not be able to get the help we need.
Because this Dr. was unwilling to do the legwork to diagnose, and did such poor documentation, we've been hard pressed to find an outpatient specialist who can get us in within a reasonable amount of time to do necessary diagnostics. Every day, it feels like a fight against the clock to keep my husband alive.
We kept telling this doctor my husband just had cervical spine surgery weeks ago, and these symptoms were all new since then. But again, she didn't listen! She told us, "this doesn't just happen 6 months after surgery." Lady, if you'd listened, you'd know he had symptoms since the first week, and we weren't even 3 weeks post op!
Ugh. You get the deal. This lady doesn't listen. She's incompetent. She's unhelpful. She's condescending. She talks over you. She hasn't mastered the art of sound diagnostic decision-making and using common sense. She has no interest in helping people heal. Her lack of skill as a doctor led me to having to experience the trauma of nearly losing my husband (again and again), and for that, I will never forgive her. I feel I have more medical skill than she does, which is saying a lot, because I have none. But at least I have common sense, empathy, compassion, logic, a detective mindset, and listen.
Do yourself a favor and don't walk, but run away from this Doctor if you ever have the misfortune of her entering your life to destroy it.
