Superior care, excellent surgeon, and compassionate bedside manner. Have been referred to him twice, and as a nurse, have referred multiple folks to him (and will continue to). Was recently referred for a Brown Recluse Spider (BRS) bite wound that initially required surgical I&D at Crestwood Medical Center (5 stars, also)... but after several weeks of home care being followed by my GP, my wound needed debridement to facilitate healing. Most surgeons would choose to perform (even simple) debridement in an outpatient or hospital setting... to be able to bill insurance at a higher rate. (Sad, but true.. And I know this because I work in this field.) Since I work in this field, I also knew that I did NOT want to have my non-infected wound exposed to any additional facilities or personnel - which could complicate the already horrendous healing issues caused by BRS poison alone. Dr. Harriman performed in-office debridement for my wound as needed and followed me closely until wound was (finally) closed... ALL WITHOUT THE COMPLICATIONS OF A SECONDARY INFECTION. I may have played a small role in that, but with the prevalence of MRSA and other secondary skin infection complications related to comic acted open wounds like mine that require packing twice daily for 3 months... many surgeons could not accomplish this 100% infection free. Dr. George Harriman did just that. I highly recommend him for all surgical needs, including neonate and pediatric surgery (my specialty area) as I have seen first hand, his work in these specialty areas in the past, with excellent outcomes.

I had a large cyst removed from my breast. Dr. Harriman has such a relaxed and compassionate bedside manner. I felt very comfortable in his office while he explained about the surgery and then again with my follow up visit. He answered my questions in an unhurried fashion and let me know I could call any time if I needed anything. I highly recommend him and would see only him if I ever needed general surgery again.

Dr. Harriman has performed two inguinal hernia repairs for me. One in the left size, which was a laparoscopic procedure, and one in the right side using the open incision method. On both occasions, Dr. Harriman was very good at explaining things in a comforting manner. Both surgeries appeared to be successful with minimal pain. I highly recommend him and would probably request his services again should the need arise.

I had a double biopsy, one in each breast. He started the procedres before the numbing medicine took effect because he was in such a rush. I would have screamed, but he gave me a pill prior to the procedure that literally made a response impossible. I and his nurses were in shock, mine being literal. I was gray, shaking and still bleeding badly after he was finished. He wrapped the incisions poorly and ineffectually. No pressure was applied to one incision site and a large hematoma resulted. The pain medicine provided was ineffectual also, I was in agony. These results should never have happened. It isn't that difficult to do it correctly when the doctor does not rush. I will never go to him again.
