This endodontist is amazing. I was referred to him by my general dentist in Beverly Hills as the only person who could save my tooth. He did just that! His office is modern and beautiful with the latest in scientific equipment. He was kind, answered all my questions and was very patient with me. I understand why my general dentist sends patients 150 miles away to see him. I couldn't recommend him more highly.

Trigger happy prescribing root canal treatments as though they were chocolates! Equipment is dated, patient chair falling apart. Takes far too many unnecessary x-rays, as if it were a camera! Totally agree with the comments of a previous writer. Give this endodontist a miss!

Dr. Pannkuk is the endodontist’s endodontist. I know, because I am one. I traveled 300+ miles (past who knows how many other endodontists) to have my root canal done by him. I know firsthand how important a HIGH QUALITY root canal is. Unfortunately, I suspect most of Santa Barbara doesn’t have a clue what a world-class endodontist they have in their midst. Count yourself very fortunate if you are referred here for any endodontic procedure.

Dr. Pannkuk is the endodontist other endodontists go to for their root canals. He is considered to be the best of the best. I drove 90 miles to have him save my tooth upon several recommendations; he did not disappoint. Dr. Pannkuk was kind, patient and incredibly gifted.

In my view, he over-prescribes the need for a root canal ie he is somewhat reckless in prescribing root canal treatments. Bases his judgement purely on xrays - does not test for sensitivity of the tooth at all. Also takes far too many xrays. The equipment is old, the patient chair is embarrassing , falling apart.
