I originally went to her because it was important for me to receive a more holistic approach. The initial visit made me feel like she was very thorough & I was looking forward to my new level of care. She helped solve a problem I was having with my knees & ordered a battery of blood tests(which is normal for her physical she said). She also suggested the expensive tests like the other patient noted but after looking into them I felt they were not necessary. Many couldn't really tell what they claimed.I had my Dr. friend look over the results of my blood test (because I left my 2nd office visit very overwhelmed by her explaining the results of my 17 viles of blood she had drawn). He said some were fine to run, however, most were completely unnecessary & in fact couldn't tell me anything unless they were done in conjunction with other tests THAT WEREN'T TAKEN.I went back to her 1 more time just to be utterly disappointed and frustrated because she wanted me to take more of those tests.

Yes, you might have to wait past your appointment time, but it's because patients aren't rushed through like most doctors. Very caring and knowledgeable. I feel she stays current with trends, studies, research, etc.

After waiting 45 minutes to see her, Dr. Holec assured me that the best approach to my condition was an extensive battery of expensive tests, some of which I later learned are not even considered accurate. She made it very clear to me how 'valuable' her and her staff's is and what a great service they were providing for me. At one point her office manager, came into the room and rudely told Dr. Holec she had other patients waiting. After leaving, I was to wait for a phone call regarding the testing, which NEVER came. A few days later, I received a phone call from the office manager telling me to disregard the letter that would be arriving at my home. When I opened it, it could very easily have been written by a third grader. In a one paragraph letter, I couldn't 26 grammar and spelling errors. These are certainly not the kind of people I want handling my insurance claims....

While she’s seems pleasant at 1st, she try’s to hard to impress you with her knowledge of text book issues that don't apply. She tends to chat more about her "famous" patience than I cared to hear. Lots of wasted time with little results and she likes to push medications thatseem to do more for her (kick-back wise) than for you. Susan requires you come in twice a month to "Check in" for absolutly nothing when you are on an insurance program that requires her to meet a discount, ridiculous!

She's really friendly and makes you feel comfortable. Her office also worked with me on my insurance, because Unicare refused to pay for awhile.

Dr. Holec is a wonderful DO who sees only adults. She is very helpful and enthusiastic and always willing to go the extra mile for you! She's amazingly supportive and thorough compared to all the doctors I've seen to date!
