Amit Gupta, ICU hospitalist at Avera, Sioux Falls, SD, has a very high opinion of himself with very little respect for patient or patient's family. Rude. Arrogant. Condescending. Not open to questions. (HE is the doctor and should not be questioned.) At times, did not check patient's chart before advising other medical staff of patient's condition (his statements were not accurate). Refused repeated requests from patient's family to speak with other doctors (surgeon, GI specialist, etc.). Unfortunately, I can find no redeeming qualities in this physician. Would rate zero stars if able.
