Went in for Achilles surgery 2 years ago today & I still have numbness in my toes and ball of my foot. Prior to surgery I never, ever, had any issues with numbness or loss of feeling in my toes or any other problem with my foot, except pain in my achilles, until surgery. Dr. Fortin suggested it could possibly be the Airflow Q Pain Pump he suggested that I wore for a week after for pain but felt that should dissipate after a year maybe 2. All I know is whether cutting the tendon in my big toe, the pump, or some other issue from the procedure has left me with a damaged foot and impairs my ability to walk any distance and even driving has its challenges. I have noted all this for over a year in notes on his portal and a few phone calls but there really hasn't been any effort on his part to resolve the issue. I suspect that's because the damage is done and can't be undone. That said, the pain in my Achilles is gone. Maybe it's the little things

Dr. Fortin is top notch. His staff is rude and condescending including the nurses. They feel that the patient comes second, after them.

To say that Dr. Fortin changed my life is an understatement. I was born with myelomeningocele, the most severe of the three forms of spina bifida. The operation I had as 3-month-old (by another phenomenal surgeon) left me with nerve damage along the left side of my left leg along with a club foot, causing me to walk on the outside of my foot.

A year and a half ago (after 31 years of countless foot doctor appts with other doctors, leg braces, orthotics, foot sprains & breaks, and extreme frustration) Dr. Fortin performed a tendon transfer and realigned my foot.

I now am more active than ever! I play tennis with a freedom I never experienced before and can finally wear any kind of shoe I want, without having to wear a brace.

Dr. Fortin is not only a skilled surgeon, but also just a great human being. You can sense his genuine care for his patients and he always maintains the utmost professionalism in all his interactions.

Thank you, Dr. Fortin. You didn’t just change my life; he gave me a life I never dreamed I could have!

Dr. Fortin was recommended by one of his peers to me. He may seem aloof, but he not only knows what he is doing, but he has a great staff. His PA, Deborah, answered all my questions and was very kind. I cannot say enough about the professionalism and the positive attitudes of the PT team upstairs. Every time I had an issue they had an answer. Together they gave my life back to me.

I have had three separate surgeries with Dr Fortin and can say without question that he is an outstanding orthopedic surgeon. Very knowledgeable with excellent bedside manner. Two of my surgeries required overnight hospital stays and both times Dr Fortin was at my bed at 5:30am to check how I was doing. I have problematic feet and ankles but no one is touching them but Dr Fortin - he's the best. Period.

Absolutely agree with the person who wrote the rating with the one star. One year later and worse off than before. He doesn't seem to care at all.

I had Dr. Fortin do foot surgery on me and I have been in so much pain for a year now and I have to have another foot Surgeon do another surgery on my foot. Praying that the new guy can fix what Fortin screwed up. He was Grossly Negligent in listening to what I told him and to the letter my Allergy Doctor sent him. I have to have the S/S apparatus taken out of my foot and get an MRI, to see exactly what he did to me. He also cut my Achilles Tendon without mentioning a word about doing and other cuts except for the one to go into my foot on top. He made additional cuts to my heel and leg and I am in so much pain that I can not stand long enough to cook my Families dinner. I can not work, I am sleeping so much because of the pain and I no longer have a life. I am very angry, because with all of the problems that I had right after surgery the problems have not stopped they only get worse. Next Surgery to remove the hardware he put into my foot knowing that I am Allergic to that metal. Such Arrogance and no concern about my new problems that HE Created, by using Formaldehyde sutures and glue that he was told not to use days before the Surgery and my foot was very infected and the pain was unbearable. He just shrugged his shoulders like no big deal. IT WAS NOT HIS FOOT IT WAS MINE AND MY LEG THAT THE MUSSEL IS DYING IN AND MY CALF LOOKS DEFORMED!!!! HORRIBLE DOCTOR!!! HE NEEDS TO LOSE HIS LICENSE!!!!

Dr. Fortin is amazing. I took a leap of faith, but once the surgery was scheduled, found out that a good friend had used him 15 years ago and is still pleased with results. His resident described him as a "genius" with feet and ankles. The physical therapist I went to (who was not employed by him because I had to go to someone on the other side of town), said that he was "a magician." He said, everyone over here goes to Dr. Z. Dr. Z is great, but everyone has a bad day once in a while and when Dr. Z has a bad day, Dr. Fortin is who you go to to fix it. His bedside manner is great. He is caring, compassionate, and was patient with all of my questions.

Very knowledgeable. Professional but still friendly. Explained things to me in a non condescending way. Even though his office is far from me, it was worth the trip. The office was extremely busy, but I was still seen on time.
