I was nervous to see a new dentist after going to the same one for over 15 years. Dr Picot and his team were great. Very thankful for them! I'll root for UNC over Clemson any day!

Let me start by saying I am a real patient of his. I needed extensive work done on my teeth on several occasions due to carelessness and lack of dental visits. I'm 30 now and hadn't been to the dentist regularly since I was 15. I came to find Southend Dentistry as I was in horrible pain and needed emergency care and couldn't find a dentist anywhere that would take me a new patient right then and there. I call Southend Dentistry and spoke with Amber who didn't ask too many questions she basically gave me the address and said see you in a about 25 mins!!! My teeth are not eligible for a smile poster and not at any time did anyone in his office make me feel the slightest bit embarrassed. The staff are kind and truly compassionate and do really care about people. Dr. Picot was very engaging and personal the entire time and made sure I was well aware of what would entail and follow during and after the procedure. I never would have thought it possible to laugh while having teeth pulled. I will be returning to this office for all my dental needs in the future. In fact, I am trying to rush to pay the remainder of what I owe because I am excited to get more work done by his firm. The practice is top notch! Everyone from the receptionist to the dental hygienists, they are always incredible feel very comfortable at their office simply because they are the best at what they do! I highly recommend them!!!

I visited Dr. Picot twice for cleanings, both appointments had me in his office over 2 hours. He seemed unwilling to help except to refer to other doctors for implants that I told him I didn't want. I am thankful he didn't do any work on my teeth after some of the reviews I read.

Dr. Bradford L. Picot's response
Hi- I'm so sorry you had a negative experience with us. We certainly don't like to keep people waiting, much less new patients! Our apologies for leaving you feeing like you were not a priority. We like to spend quite a bit of time with a new patient and provide a comprehensive analysis and treatment plan, which takes time to evaluate and prescribe. Usually our new patients can expect to be in our office for 1.5-2 hours on their initial visit, which we do list on our website in the "what to expect" section. Sometimes there is a bit of waiting, but it's because I personally spend time reviewing your x-rays, photos, and patient files so I can make the best possible plan for you. Your feedback helps us improve our processes and procedures to provide a better experience for our patients. Thank you for your honest response. - Dr. Bradford L. Picot

My experience with South End Dentistry was great! I went in for a toothache. I'd had issues with two teeth and had basically neglected to take care of business for years (I know, shame on me...)

Basically, the extraction of my tooth was painless, and the cleaning and filling of the cavity they found was painless as well. The bleeding stopped in 2 hours, which I thought was pretty fast. I had no discomfort whatsoever, no pain at all, during the day I went to SED or during any part of the rest of the week.

Thank you South End Dentistry!

I've never been a fan of going to the Dentist and like most people I would wait until I had no choice. I had a very bad toothache and one of my Clients referred me to Dr. Picot. I was very surprised at how knowledgeable and patient he was with me in explaining the procedure in extracting my tooth and before I knew it, it was over and I was standing in front of the Staff going over what my insurance would cover and what my out of pocket expense would be. The Dental Office was very clean and high tech. After such an awesome experience I would highly recommend Dr. Bradford L. Picot's service.

Biography

Originally from Shaker Heights, Ohio Dr. Bradford Picot received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a Morehead Scholar (now known as Morehead-Cain) at the university he was initiated into Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and also served as a drum major in the marching band. Dr. Picot remained in Chapel Hill to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and later completed a general practice residency at the Palmetto Health Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, SC. In September of 2009 Dr. Picot opened SouthEnd Dentistry at the age of 28 with the vision of providing the best in dental care, utilizing the latest in technology, in a soothing environment for its guests. In a space that used to serve as a private golf club, Dr. Picot designed and built a dental practice that doesn't seem like a dental office. Countless hours are spent designing and executing customized treatment plans for our patients and re-strategizing how to create an even better experience for them. Dr. Picot takes a comprehensive approach to treatment planning while practicing conservative dentistry. This means that he uses a team of specialists to strategize and design the best treatment plan for all of his patients. Patients are referred to Dr. Picot to treat complex dental issues. His goal is not only to treat a patient's dental disease or main concern, but to make sure that the dentistry lasts as long as possible and that the cause of disease is addressed. Dr. Picot's goal is not to "patch up" dental disease but to take a look at the big picture (TMJ, occlusion, orthodontics, gum and bone health, cavities) to assess what can be done in your best interests. Service has always been a priority for Dr. Picot as he founded the UNC Malawi Dental Project, an annual service project encompassing free dental care and education on HIV/AIDS in Malawi Africa. Philanthropy has extended to donating a student locker room at new UNC School of Dentistry building and establishing the annual CommitMEN Scholarship Fund with fellow alumni at Shaker Heights High School. Devotion to service continues through annual participation in Give Kids a Smile, bus dentistry, and volunteering at various schools, recreation centers and career fairs. In the community he has served on boards focusing on educating and mentoring underprivileged youths and fundraised for the arts and the American Heart Association.
