This woman saved my life! I would recommend her, I've been looking for years to find the right one and she by far is the best.

I m rating Alison with the highest rating available! If I could give her more stars I would. She has been nothing but helpful and stayed true to her focus of ensuring my son's needs were the forefront of the matter. I have had an ongoing issue regarding my son and have had several "professionals" speaking for him, representing him, but never truly having his best interest in mind; he was just another case for them. Alison focused on him- not me and what I wanted, but him. I highly recommend Alison and would use her services again in a heartbeat. She is very personable and was at the appointments well before me although I am a person who arrives early.

I would highly recommend Alison!
She has worked as a custody evaluator on my case that’s been going on for a long time
Several professionals have been involved and none were as focused on my child as Alison was.
She got to the truth about the game playing that’s been going on. Others made it about me or my ex.
Alison made it about my son.
She’s a child advocate.

Alison Urdan’s upmost preoccupation if the well-being of the child. Alison Urdan is highly competent and extremely thorough. She takes the time to interview all interested parties and associated parties with relevant information and historical context. I’m surprised about the negative comments on this site. I presume that they are from abusive parents that, for once, didn’t get it their way. As for the negative comments regarding the cost, they are simply false. Alison is here for your child and has the experience, understanding and analytical skills to help you help your child.

Alison has been extremely helpful in terms of navigating the court system during our divorce. She keeps the children front and center. My husband is not kind and does not play fair, I was worried at first that she would not see through his charming facade. But, she did. I am very thankful for her ongoing support. She doesn't always take my side, but that is okay, she speaks her truth and for that I am very grateful.

If I could give Alison 5+ stars I would. I highly recommend her. She has helped me through separation and divorce from an abusive husband. Before I met with Alison for our first session she sent me such kind and supporting text messages. She is helping me make it through a stressful court matter. If I need anything and can’t wait for our next session she sends me an immediate response and returns calls when I ask. I look forward to my weekly sessions with her and always feel better and hopeful after we meet.
Alison truly cares and often asks about my kids- she’s understanding, supportive and compassionate
I’m glad I found her- and grateful that she accepts Medi cal when so many therapists with her level of experience don’t any more.

Alison was appointed by the court to be our child custody recommending mediator. Over the course of of a few years, she met individually with all three of our small children and (in my opinion) made the experience as comfortable as possible for them. She also met with me and my children's father together numerous times. She helped us discuss really hard topics during a very stressful time in our lives.

I'm surprised by the content in the negative reviews. I found that she always stayed focused on what would be in the children's best interest and never took sides with either parent. She took the time to talk with numerous third parties, like teachers or other therapists, and then made a pretty solid/comprehensive recommendation to the court.

My only fault is that as she is in such high demand, she is pretty busy. I think that because she was so busy the recommendation took a while to write and and had a few typos in it.

Unfortunately angry people lash out and write bad reviews but people who have had a great experience, rarely write reviews and that is my mistake.
We have worked with Alison for several years now as our court appointed mediator. It is very hard for quarreling ex's to be objective and put the childrens needs first. Thats exactly what Alison helped us do! She would listen to both sides but would always decide based on what was best for the kids. The kids also developed an excellent rapport with her and were able to confide in her. She is extremely responsive and has even helped resolve issues over the weekend when we were desperate. We spent so much time, money and effort with other court counselors/evaluators. Wish we had found her sooner!

We have been her clients for over 5 years now and she has never asked me to write reviews or “threatened” my custody if I dont. I am sure the other reviews are written by parents who did not get their way and that is why they need a mediator in the first place! Alison is in a very tough spot since whatever decision she makes, one of the parents is not going to like it!

I would never base my decision on picking a counselor based on a rant by angry unreasonable people who are just throwing a tantrum online and ruining someone’s business because they did not get their way!

Alison Urdan cares about the welfare of children, period. Do not trust the negative reviews! They are from abusive and manipulative parents who don’t get their way. Just have one meeting with Ms. Urdan and you will see how passionate is her commitment to doing what is best for the child. She is an amazing and insightful therapist. She was a tremendous help to our daughter who absolutely adores her. I can not recommend Ms.Urdan highly enough.

Alison Urdan is fantastic! Cares about kids more than anyone I’ve encountered. Helped our daughter so much! Saved her life, really. Do NOT buy into the negative reviews. They are from horrible abusive parents who got what they deserved and are angry about it. Find out for yourself. Give Ms. Urdan a chance. I promise you won’t regret it.
